This is absolutely comical right now that they are still leaving Sale in the game...... The guy has absolutely nothing left.

Knowing this team, we'll get our opportunities to get back into the ball game. But, the question is whether or not we will convert those opportunities. That's what sets championship teams apart from playoff teams

The sox are a pitching first team. Against Houston, the offense would have to show up and the pitchers would need to step up. Today, your offense left opportunities out their, your base running ended a rally early, and your ace sucked plain and simple. You had to win one of these first two in Houston. Barring a rally, you’re gonna have to hope for Pom and his career high IP to outduel Keuchel

Yes I agree that the Yakees might actually put up a good fight against Cleveland.... That could be a good series actually. Never thought I would be excited to watch a Yankees game but I am tonight. Two solid teams going at it.

Hard to know if Sale is just worn down by all the innings pitched or if some mechanical issue has developed with his delivery. He still is throwing hard but certainly is not the same guy out there.

How about that little Altuve hitting two home runs, one to center field. He is pretty small to generate that power.

To be fair a lot of us were thinking the one game we would win against the guys would be Pom pitching. He has absolutely been our most consistent starter through the 2nd half of the season. If we lose tomorrow we are likely done.... Today still isn't over but a comeback seems unlikely at this point today.

His velocity is down a bit, and he is missing his spots. Farrell needs to manage his innings better next year.

Probably because hes tired.... Guy is so skinny and doesn't have weight behind him. I think he is burnt out regardless if he has played the regular amount of innings a normal pitcher has.

Or the guy needs to get stronger. The guy's 6'6. Add some weight. He was paid big bucks for this same exact moment.

Actually he isn't paid that much. $12M this year; $12.M next year; $15M the year after. Then he is an UFA.

Yup this one is over folks. Heres hoping Poms has a good outing tomorrow.... If we lose tomorrow this series is pretty much a wrap.

Well the expectations are high with him. It's not like the guy pitched 230 plus innings. I think needs to add muscle. Just dissapointing.

Another disaster. I don't even feel confident tomorrow. Something about this team. They have been inconsistent all year.

Looks like it might be a good night to watch football after all

Well that's another disaster as a pats fan. Their defense can't stop a nosebleed. I can't take two losses in one day:(

I don't know how I feel about game 2. For some reason I think we can handle Keuchel, but if Pommy decides to give us a very nerve racking 6 innings and 2 runs, I might lose my mind

220 or so after this start. Thats a lot for a skinny guy.

He's coming off 9 days rest and he pitched a short September and he gave up 2 dingers in the very first inning. To me the case for a tired arm is a weak one. I think he just went up against some good hitters who had no trouble reading his pitches and especially hitting the fat ones--which he threw earlier in the season and got away with.

Sale threw 214 innings this year, 226 last year and 208 in 2015 and 214 in 2014.
