How about last 4 starts?

ERod

Last 4 starts

21 IP 8 ER (3.43 ERA) (last 5 starts: 27 IP/10 ER: 3.33)

17 H + 9 BB (1.24 WHIP)

24K

Porcello

Last 4 starts:

22 IP 11 ERs (4.50 ERA)

21 H + 9 BB (1.45 WHIP)

18K

Fister

Last 4 starts (before today)

16.2 IP 17 ER (9.18 ERA)

24H 7 BB (1.86 WHIP)

18K

I saw a major difference and still do.

But you're selecting the sample that best fits your argument. To be fair you would have to compare everything from last 2 starts to last 10 starts or some such thing.

I'm not in disagreement with you, really. I would have probably have preferred Porcello too. But I don't think it was a big slam-dunk.

Hopefully Porcello will make your call look even better tomorrow.

As I stated before, both ERod and Porcello had better recent 4-5 starts than Fister.

It was a bad choice.

We just may win this, despite JF's incompetence.

I had a gut feeling that Fister might get the job done, but so much for that.

How great it would be if Porcello can shut down the Astros tomorrow.

I don't care who it is, just so long as they shut them down or close to it. We don't have much success against Morton. Hanley's batting .067 against him in 15ABs.

Well, my call was actually ERod with Porcello starting game 4.

This way, we now have both available.

The problem with E-Rod is that he doesn’t seem to have the character and the guts to face these situations. Maybe it’s just me.

Or maybe he suffers from Buch disease and is just a lunkhead. And with only two pitches.

I would start Porcello so Beltran becomes the DH, rather have him swinging from left side, then Gattis in Fenway swinging from the Right against E-rod.

If Farrell keeps Porcello in for 2ns time through Astro Line-up, he's playing Russian Roulette. Keep E-Rod ready, and as soon as he's on the mound have BP ready next. Its do or die time.

I would also make sure if E-Rod comes in he has a clean inning to start. Don't bring in High pressure situation, you have experience BP arms for that.
