I've been defending Young all year.

 

I'm done.

 

No way he's on my playoff roster.

 

I thought Young was a decent defensive outfielder and did enough at bat to be a utility outfielder. Over time though, he has apparently lost what hitting skill he had and now is a total loss at bat. No way they should bring him back nor include him on a playoff roster. If Farrell also thinks that way, then why play him in any games leading up to the playoffs. He has an alternative in Davis. Why not play the guys who will continue on the roster?

No, I've never mentioned Pom by name, but this isn't the first time he's failed to cover first. Yes, I call that "bonehead".

 

Overall though, Pom's been a big plus this year.

 

Pom has done well enough as a back end starter. He's not a front line. I'll take it.

Not that Davis is doing any better, but he's a better defender (though we don't need a defensive OF replacement) and pinch runner- something we might actually need.

Batting wise, Davis has been worse than Young this year, both with Boston and with Oakland. He's no magic elixer and you can't steal 1st Base

 

Young has been decent as a ph this year; I think he's hitting .400 in that role.

I'll more than take it.

 

He's pitched like front line just about all year, except for the low innings per start.

 

Huge plus.

Agreed? I'm confused. Poms was pulled at the right time. Nobody expected him to have a melt down the way he did and when he completely fell apart we went to the bullpen. It's a 3 run game. Still easily winnable

Youngs third strikeout in a row. I guess Farrell must think Beni needs the rest.

 

I would gen happy to never See Young again. Dude is less than useless.
