Way too many walk-off innings with no walk-off hit, so I finally went to bed... not really caring because how could these hitless wonders ever beat the Guardians let alone the Dodgers.

Who stayed up to watch the conclusion of last night's marathon? I made it through the 15th, but the clock struck midnight and down I went!

Bingo! Exactly the same for me. I wanted to go to bed at 11 but couldn't. Then nature (and my age) took over.

That's me too in most games. But the Sox current situation--September, Yankees closing on us, loss streak, etc--combined with that totally unexpected 9th inning kept me riveted.

That's kind of oversimplifying don't you think? A lot of pitchers have been successful with 2 pitches. Hell, Mariano Rivera only had one.

Which is why he was a 1 inning once in a while 2 inning reliever. You think he could face a batting order 3 or 4 times a game with 1 pitch? I don't think so.

You know our pitching sucks when Darwin Barney goes 3 for 4.

The pitching is the reason why we won that came. The offense was pathetic. If not for our pen doing a stellar job of now allowing the Jays to score for so many innings, we would have lost.

This will end soon but not in our favor. I will look back to this game if we don't win this division

It ended up being a pretty good night. :) Anytime we win on a walkoff while the Yankees lose on a walkoff, that's a good night.

Quarter Pounder with cheese or a Big Mac? Probably going to get them a side of chicken nuggets too. Is it wrong to not buy them fries as well?

They need an ice cream cone.

Is there anyone on talksox who disagrees with that?

They have GOT to make the change and start every extra inning with a man on 2B. I don't care about tradition or how you score it. 19 inning games aren't good for anyone.

I am completely opposed to this idea.

19 inning games can be epic.

Freebie runner? No way, that's little league ********. That's as bad as instituting a mercy rule.

It was also tonight's poll question of the game on the NESN broadcast. I voted "No".

I'd rather see a draw than that.

As we all should have voted. That rule would have denied us some great pitching by the bullpen, that absolutely stupendous double play by JBJ when he nailed Bautista trying to score on a middling fly to CF, and Betts and HanRam's heroics in the 19th inning. It could easily have given the Jays a win they didn't deserve.
