But the fielders did not give up the Home Runs. Those are on him.

Completely agree. The 6th is all on ERod. But the score going in should have been 1-1 with ERod having thrown fewer pitches. The Nunez misplay (officially not an error) was costly.

Plus our lineup has 4 measley singles in 7 innings. That's why I give ERod an Ok. Plus those first 5 innings.

He pitched well enough. His fielders let him down and Benintendi took runs off the board.

Wow! Whata lucky night for this fat ass. Geeeez!

That makes 4 of them this year. 3 runs in 26 innings. The man knows how to pitch and IMO he is in the Red Sox heads.

Sorry, Nunie, but Pedey makes that play with ease even with the bad knee. Probably not an error, but.

The idea of using Nunez as a backup shortstop and thirdbaseman should be shelved. We need to bring up Lin/Marrero for the sept call up and get Bogie some rest.

He has been pitching better against us than against anyone else, which i think says more about our team than him.

Beni make a bad read trying to stretch a single to a double. Betts was to blame for the second time he was caught stealing. It was a 3 and 2 count with one out. Betts stood and let strike three be called. He has to swing and hopefully make contact. Tough to criticize Beni for that.

We could sit and s*** on E-rod, but the real issue is getting Sabathia off the hook again and again.
Sabathia only had to get 16 outs. We gave him 2 by eliminating our own base runners. CC got 16 outs and gave up 9 base runners. Not exactly Koufax-like.

E-rod is never going to be good as we hoped. His control is all over the place.

Jim Kaat on the MLB network telecast noted that ERod does not have the same leg lift he did before his knee injury, his turn isn't quite as far and his stride is not as direct to the plate. It was an interesting side by side.

But unless he becomes a pitcher instead of a thrower, he will be a disappointment.

Quite frankly, Bogaerts needs some bench time for several days.

I have advocating resting him or at the least moving him way down in the order. Right now JF has set his lineup with a rally killer in the middle and actually Betts is not doing a lot either. We really of short of hitters who are performing. Beni went 2 for 2 with 2 walks. Got to capitalize on the table setters but with a rally killer right in the middle of the lineup, that isn't happening.

No, he needs to sit. He looks absolutely lost up there and has for 2 months. Playing through whatever it is, physical or mental, isn't working.

He's got serious stuff. I think station is correct as he can't seem to hit the outside of the plate enough to be really effective on the outside.

I'd like him paired with Leon and told not to shake off any pitch all game and see what happens. That may be a step closer to being a pitcher than a thrower.....
