Hanley does not suck absolutely.

He just sucks for $22. mil a year.

Otherwise his value is pedestrian.

Sox over-paid for aging talent trending downward.

No surprise.

He is not the Hanley of old.

Now he is just old.

You seriously need to f*** off and start posting about baseball and not making every post about other posters.

It's okay a700.

Mommy let him wear his big boy pants today.

Let him feel his oats.

Or the crusty load of s*** in said paints.

lol you two get triggered so easily and take everything so personally.

All I was saying is why is this one stat valid when you clearly disagree with the analytics as a whole.

But by that logic, Kris Bryant sucks too. He's played 14 more games than Hanley, hits cleanup in a lineup with high OBP and only has 5 more RBI.

If you wanna argue Hanley sucks, cool, go for it. But using such a flawed fluke stat isn't a good way to do it.

I'd argue his injury issues, bad defense, below average hitting, lack of on base %, his barely replacement level WAR, etc.

Brynt has been hitting behind Shwarber a lot of games, you are kidding right?

You need to post about baseball and not constantly about other posters. You are just trolling.

You are clearly exaggerating, and making another personal attack. Please stop.

Okay? My point is about the RBI.. Sox and Cubs have similar OBP. Hanley hits behind Moreland, I don't see anyone using that defense for Hanley.

I think that is his point about RBI's.

That actually is my point, Brynt hits behind poor OBP guys, unlike Hanley who hits behind high OBPs guys, and who is not 3rd in the order as Brynt -- He hits 4th!

You are typically the kind of poster that we ignore since we don't like to encourage mean spirited posts directed at other members.

You, however, appear to be special. You are like a zit that won't go away.

You go out of your way to dis other posters at any time and generally have little else to say unless you can slip a shiv in at the same time.

In the past two days you have targeted myself, Thunder, and a700 at least.

Do us all a favor and go toss yourself.

You could use a a rush of endorphins.

This is true. I agree.

Albert Pujols hits in a lineup with the 5th lowest OBP in league and they've missed trout for a huge chunk and has 75 RBI.

Bryant has hit 4th more than any other spot in his lineup and for a majority of the Season has hit behind Jon Jay, Anthony Rizzo and Schwarber. How are those bad OBP guys? Cubs team OBP is .333. Sox is .335. Our lineup has scored only 8 more runs all season than the Cubs and we don't have a pitcher in our lineup.

Its not like Bryant is in a bad lineup.

Moreland started very good... and he has sucked.

My point is that every stat has something to say if you use it properly. In this case RBIs speak volumes of how bad is 2017 Hanley.

In Brynt's case, it's a different story.

Beyond the stat, Hanley is not even close of what I want fromm a 4th bat.

Actually, 5th might be too high. Check it out. He has 40 at bats batting 5th and 40 at bats batting 6th, 7th, and 9th combined. His OPS when batting 5th is .861 and in the three lower slots combined 1.225.

He is hitless in the three games since he returned to batting 5th.

Most of the times behind Rizzo? I don't think so Tim.

I was looking at it wrong, I misread and thought it said Bryant had a majority of AB's 4th, but it was 2nd. but the point still stands. Bryant is still in a good high OBP lineup and not producing RBI and Pujols has a ton of RBI in a s*** OBP lineup.

Again, Bryant has hit most of the time behind Shwerber and has hit upper in the lup most of the times than Hanley.

Furthermore...I even find useful things in rudimentary stats like Ws-Ls, BA, Rs, etc. Believe it or not they have helped me to win some bets hahaha but agin... you have to use them properly.
