3.59 ERA in his last 7 games. 3.06 in his last 5 games. The team has 2 wins in those 7 games.

Absolutely no doubt Porcello has been good lately. I've said it for weeks. Our pitchers pretty much have to pitch 9 shut out innings for us to have a chance with this offense. Teams would kill to have our pitching rotation even with Price injured. Absolute waste of a year to have this kind of pitching rotation with zero offense.

Once again, Porcello was not great, but he and the bullpen were good enough to keep the team in the game. We should be able to win a fair share of these games where our pitchers give up 4 runs, but lately we seem to lose every one of them. Our offense has been brutal in July.

Personally, I think our team has another good run in them.

With this team, we have to allow 3 runs or less to win.

Not good enough to win with this offense. This team was built around top pitching -- the best rotation in baseball. The offense is one of the worst. If Porcello wants to win games, he will have to pitch like an ace. Pitching good enough to win with a "normal' offense will not be good enough with a substandard offense. If you build your team around pitching, the pitching needs to do the job. Pitching to a 4.55 ERA is not good enough when you have a below average offense. He deserves his record.

Porcello was ok. It wasn't even a QS. Let's not act like Porcello was robbed.

True, he wasn't robbed. It's more about how often our offense has been so feeble.

This team was built around ace pitching -- two Cy Youngs and Sale average offense. Porcello has been far from an ace. He has not lived up to his designed role on this team. A 4.55 ERA doesn't get it done. That is below league average. Only 5 teams have a worse ERA than Cy Porcello.

We need Rodriguez to pitch well. I think he's capable of being a solid 2 or 3 starter.

If he stop giving up golf balls, and stays healthy he might. Right now he's a fifth starter. His location are always dodgy.

I very much doubt he will ever be that.

If he has successful surgery he may contribute. But if not I see him as a flop.

No put-away pitch and an inability to go deep will also limit his usefulness.

The rays have fallen back to the pack. They might be swept. This division will come down to us and the stankees. Gotta keep pace with them.

The Rays have made some trades and pick-ups to strengthen their roster.

They have some very good SP'ers.

I would not count them out.

Well right now the Stankees are winning. This team has little room for error. They need to start f***ing winning games!

The Stankees won. Tampa Bay gave them the game.

It doesn't matter how you win. They win. Our club needs to get their heads out of their asses and start winning games.

Amazing, Girardi had Torreyes bunting with two men on and it worked to perfection. Would Farrell do that?

Farrell sucks! It drives me crazy that we don't do that or even send the runners. How about playing small ball for once?

Farrell would probably call for the bunt but we wouldn't execute it.

We can split his numbers all day long. He is a 4.5 ERA pitcher who allows tons of runs. He sucks, plain and simple.

And he is going to lose a ton of games on a team with a bottom half offense.

3.06 ERA in his last 5 starts. 0-4 in those starts.

In the end, if you end the season with a 4+ ERA with a bottom half offense, your team will not win many of your starts unless you have a lot of luck.

Agreed, but if Porcello can give us 3.06 to the end of the season and through the playoffs, I'll be happy with RP.

Signs of life? Not sure... He posted a 5+ ERA in this game.
