You go with what you have. Listen the offense has been bad but the record could be a lot better. One day it's the offense and another it's the pitching. This team's just going through the motions and i think they're pressing as well.

This post says everything.

The way this offense is it would have been inevitable that they would eventually lose. The Mauer home run just gets it over quicker.

Devers, why should you be playing 3b in Boston?

CAUSE I KNOW I CAN TREAT YOU BETTER

No, because nobody else can. BTW Mel Ott was 17 when he hit the majors---AND STAYED THERE---BIG TIME!

Vasquez messes around a lot behind the plate.

Showing low, then last second asking for a high pitch. I would think that would mess with the pitcher.

I've always wondered about the whole tapping the ground with the mitt thing (which many catchers do), to try to make the batter thing the pitch will be something low. Do batters really fall for that? If anything, I think it would alert the batter that the pitch will not be down.

This offense really looks like the Dead Wood Society.

This is like 2014 all over again.

Not trying to funny, but it has reached enigmatic status.

Barnes cannot be blamed for Mauer's home run. It's not like he grooved a pitch. I read that the pitch was 4 ft off the ground. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to a good piece of hitting.

Of course it was Barnes' fault. He didn't do his homework. Mauer loves pitches up and away as he is an opposite field hitter. It is one of the few balls that he can drive out of the park.

No enigma. 40 HRs 115 RBI and .401 OBP sitting in DR replaced by a .317 OBP guy. No mystery. No enigma. Sox with 20 HRs. Last year 27 HRs at the same time and Papi had 7 of them. No mystery. No enigma.
