I saw him turn around and do something but did not see that.

Sure looked like it. I've seen guys fined for less but you can guarantee Torre will back ex-Yankee Showalter and do nothing

I actually like him, one of the very Orioles I have a lot of respect for. He's a good dude off the field.

I ran it back and watched it four times during the commercial. No doubt. The Finger - upward arm motion included. Classy guy.

interesting. both teams had 6 hits tonight and 2 earned runs. but the sox had 4 errors and 3 unearned runs. the orioles meanwhile made good play after good play. oh, and we had the egregious baserunning error by hanram.

Definitely could see a brawl tomorrow. Sale giving Machoman one in the rib.

No they need to let it go. They have far more to be concerned with than more revenge.

and what was Jones pointing and yelling about just now when he caught JBJ's ball on the warning track?

Totally........... they need to get playing ball.......

That looked like some good natured ribbing with Machado. Nothing at the stands. The kind of stuff winning teams do with each other.

I'd rather see Sale strike him out three times. The Red Sox have made themselves look bad enough already in this whole debacle...the best and most appropriate revenge would be just beating these *******s.

They are really missing Ortiz and I don't mean in the lineup. There is no emotional leader; no one to hold that team meeting. Ortiz was it the last few years. Varitek did it in a different way before that. Pedroia is the heir apparent but I'm not sure he is the guy for the role. Not sure who is.

As the Fonz would have said, exactamundo.

Team meeting? Every professional athlete I've heard mention these (including the dreaded "players only" meeting) has said that they were b.s. and didn't have anything to do with how they played.

Is that who he was talking to? OK. Just didn't know. He was going on and on

I'm not talking about a kumbaya type thing. I'm talking about a 2013 World Series type that Ortiz held in the dugout during one of the games. It lasted about 30 seconds and he was the only one who did any talking, er, yelling and essentially telling them to get their heads out of their collective rear ends.

Unfortunately no one on the team has that kind of gravitas. Varitek led his teams in a totally different way but there was no doubt he was the leader.

I always thought the player meetings were kind of funny. Isn't that what a coach should be doing?

Jones says fans were chanting racist things at him and throwing peanuts at him, s*** is unacceptable.

I figured that was the case. I also figured giving the finger in the direction of those people was probably the least he could do. Drunk fans get way out of control. Security should have pulled them out as soon as any stuff like that was yelled. They need more security up there....... I don't want my team to be known for that garbage....

Fair enough. I also don't want my team to be known for giving opposing fans the finger.

Yes it is unacceptable. Jones shouldn't add further fuel to fire, instead alert securities to deal with those dipshits.
