Anyone else think that instead of trying to survive until the trade deadline, we should just go for it now and trade for at least 1 more pitcher if anybody will accept? It's easier to find a trade at the deadline, but trading would be worth a shot now.

I'll second that. At this point we don't have much to lose when it comes to pitching

So we split the Baltimore series 2-2 and end up right back where we started, 1 game up. Splitting 2-2 without our hottest player isn't too bad, if you consider that going 3-1 is technically winning at a .750 rate, which is impossible for a team to do over a long stretch. But our pitching could use some improvement, as more than a couple have said... Time to get JBJ back and beat R.A. Dickey like we always do.

Tazawa hasn't given up a HR since the second game of the season, until today. I'm not quite ready to stuff him in a burlap sack and drop it into the river. 2-2 in Baltimore was more or less what I was expecting. They're a tough team.

He better be cooking up trades. Pen and SR both. 3/5 of the SR cannot be relied on or is flat out bad, one is almost a rookie, then there's Price who's been shaky in the playoffs years past.

 

While I agree the rotation ain't so hot, I think Wright, Price, and Rodriguez are pretty decent. And the bullpen is better than it has been recently.

Bad starting pitching usually leads to losses. Both kelly and Porcello sucked.

This was on of the very few games that I will miss this season. I picked a good game to miss. We score 7 runs and lose by 5. That is not acceptable. We scored 9 last night and on Saturday and lost those games too. DD needs to do something. This is atrocious. Porcello has had a real proclivity for givig up home runs since we got him. It is a bad sign for a Sinker ball pitcher to give up so many home runs.

I would not have waited for the opening of Spring Training before making a move for another pitcher. DD should be working on a move to add pitching now.

I read that he was exploring something with Toronto --Enacarnación/Bautista. On the other hand, I haven't read something regarding pitching moves. I bet he is considering it as well, mostly after this disaster.

Yeah, it was bad, I know every team has dumb fans, but even when I've been in New York I've never heard such dumb things. You'd think Orioles have been some juggernaut that's been winning consistently and competing for championships based on these fans. At least Yankees fans can backup their s*** talking most the time.

 

Almost got into a fight with a dude because he kept yelling "steroids" at Ortiz and I brought up Brady Anderson, Brian Roberts and Nelson Cruz. Dude shoved me and told me not to spread slander about Brian Roberts... like okay buddy.. I guess Brian Roberts didn't admit to taking steroids or anything.

 

Orioles are definitely getting REALLY close in terms of hatred for me with the Yankees, which is saying a lot..

I've had nothing but great experiences there, starting with clinching the 1996 ALCS in the 3rd base box seats. Been there several times since, always a great experience.

 

BTW, the same guy that designed Camden also designed the ballpark at Arlington, another cool park to visit.
