I would love to hear a case for why Clay is still in the game.

I guess there's always the "well it can't get any worse from here" argument.

Lol.

Tell us how you actually feel.

I dread his every start. And I hope Jackie can manage his streak.

Glad Clay is OUT of the game! Come on BP and OFFENSE!!!!

Hopefully Clay smokes some pot, has a domestic dispute (where the women isn't seriously injured) or does something to get suspended so he doesn't have to play anymore. Cmon Clay, hit up Jose Reyes and Chapman and get some tips!

I have no confidence in the Red Sox and John Farrell's decision making. They keep going to a guy that has done nothing but suck.

However, they don't have a viable in-house option to replace him in the rotation, yet.

He's been the WORST starter in ALL of baseball. Call ANYONE up from AAA. The WORST they can be is as bad as Buchholz. Enough giving this kid "another chance" This is going on 9 years now... Give someone else a chance.

Aside from E-Rod (who has been injured) they really don't have another option right now. Once E-Rod is healthy, he will be gone.

Agreed on all accounts. Clay has been awful. Once E Rod is healthy our rotation will look a lot different. I really thought Clay could get it together eventually but how long do we wait?? Im done with him

I don't think anybody WANTS to wait any longer to add E-Rod to the rotation, but he just hasn't been healthy. Last I heard E-Rod has a bullpen session this weekend and could be added to the rotation very soon. About two weeks ago we had Sean O'Sullivan starting, showing how little depth we have at the moment.

E-Rod pitched well yesterday and from what I heard they could call him up next week

maybe sox could trade buchholz to someone just to take his salary.

I don't think any team in the league wants Buchholz right now. He's an injury prone pitcher who has been one of the worst starters in baseball this year, what value does he even have? Even if a team had to give up nothing and just take his salary, I'm still not sure he'd be coveted by anyone.

Get hype.

First they came for Pablo. Then they came for Rusney. Now they are coming for Clay...

Regardless of how he looks now, teams will consider picking him up.

Waive him and see what happens. He still has value.

I've been frustrated with Clay since 2008. I was done with him since 2014. Nothing new.
