Well, if two stat sites say it then it must be right. /s/

If they start telling us that Pedey is only a mediocre second baseman do we believe that too?

JBJ obviously got some bad zone ratings on a few plays - it happens. I would expect him to turn those numbers around.

The fielding ratings can look a little wonky sometimes, but it doesn't mean they're wrong.

along with not catching some balls we expect him to get to....he had some poor throws early on this season too. i 100% believe that the miserable weather was a factor. his defense will be fine.

That error could end his career! I don't mean to sound alarmist, but we all know that 1 play can spell disaster in you mlb life.

The end is near....

Guess who just mashed his was into being the second most productive hitter with the Red Sox?

JBJ now hitting over .290 with an ops over .860, and 21 RBI's ( 2nd most for the RS, not too far behind Papi )

This kid Is on FIRE!!!!

He just may re-set all our expectations this year! Wish I could find my predictions on him at (that site whose name shall not be mentioned).

Ells. .260. .701 ops. 9 rbi's

Says he's hoping the hip improves & would like to stay off the DL

I loved Ells! OSU boy where my son will be going. Just get tired of the same old story, same old song and dance. Maybe it really is that he gives too much, and puts too much speed & therfore impact on a body that just can't handle it?

15 day hit streak leading mlb for Jackie! :)

No doubt you all saw this.?... Crazy good. Pretty decent sample size.

In his last 83 games, @JackieBradleyJr has hit .306 with 48 extra-base hits and 67 RBIs.

This kid just might be something at the plate as well as with the glove? Are we possibly seeing the emergence of the next Fred Lynn? I don't think I ever even thought that about Ells? Certainly not about his fielding.

JBJ just might have it all???

Amazing, RSDD ... just smashing amazing! I love everything he's doing, but can you imagine a pitching staff getting past the first 6 in the lineup and thinking, "whew, time to take a breather.... OH NO, NOT JBJ .....!!!" And then back to the top .... wow, just wow!

Welcome, BB.

Same here, or at least he's close. Big Papi is, of course, incomparable, and I love me some Xander, Mookie, and the rest of the young core, but after pulling for Jackie for so long and spending a lot of time defending him when he was struggling badly, got sent down, and looked like he might be done in the organization, it makes me near deliriously happy to see him having this kind of success.

"In his last 83 games, @JackieBradleyJr has hit .306 with 48 extra-base hits and 67 RBIs." RSDD

Since May 12, 2015:

JBJ 105 games, FG 3.7 WAR, 890 OPS

Mookie 148 games, 4.6 WAR, .806 OPS

On a WAR / game basis only about 11 OF have been better over the last calendar year! Yes he is streaky, but he is on a pretty solid run.

JBJ looks bigger this year too, in a good way. Looks like he hit the gym over the winter and is filled-out more. Looks stronger than seasons past. Getting older and at the same time staying in shape will make anyone look more solid. Not looking like a kid any more is probably the best way to put it.

I also like the fact that he's successful despite batting in the lowest part of the order, predominantly 9th mixed w/ 8th. This speaks to two things, 1) He's usually protected by Betts, 2) But it's not like he's protected as much as someone in the heart of the order. I have a feeling that if and when he does indeed get moved up in the order there's a chance he'll become less "streaky". "Streaky" in quotes because I'm not sold that he is a streaky hitter yet. Not enough info to put that label on him.

If he's not streaky he's going to be one of the greatest hitters who ever lived. I can see his hot streaks being around .900 OPS and him norming out at about .750. I'll take that and GG caliber defense at every position, thanks!

I'm trying to not dwell on that, and Shaw is making it easier to do. But that doesn't alter my opinion of what I thought of the trade at the time. :D

Wasn't there a study done on the notion of 'protection' a couple of years back, and it was shown to be a myth? (can't remember how it was done--comparing the performance of, say, a #3 hitter when 'protected' by a .300 clean up hitter vs. a .200 clean-up hitter?--no difference). But it's one of those comforting myths we have,, like the virtue of the bunt, 'moving runners up', the 'ideal #2 hitter', and likely most everything we like to discuss!

As I recall, JBJ's numbers were excellent in the minors....

Perhaps we've all been way off base judging his initial herky-jerky call ups to the big club as his "norm," & we all need to re-evaluate our expectations for him. I've always thought that those who "said" they'd be happy if he could just hit .225 were so far beyond low-balling this kid that it's been laughable.

Love the glove, but I never would have been good with that. Good thing we won't have to even think about it.

Last year at this time was the Charlie Furbush for JBJ rumors... Yuck.

lol. on BDC it was a bucket of used batting practice balls for JBj

Wasn't it the Mariners who said no to that deal, supposedly?

I'm cringing just thinking about it.

I read something today that Ben said there was no truth to the rumours. Idk... It's all just speculation on our parts. Not sure why the Mariners would ever say no to that deal.
