You're not going to get Holt in every single game this year. The longer he played last year the less effective his bat got, and remember that Holt is still a critical part of our infield depth too

 

Young was always going to get a few starts against RHP unless they got brave and decided to *actually* use Castillo for something other than decoration.

They could wait for him to take an oh'fer. I am not a believer in sitting a hot bat. Sit him when he cools off a bit.

My guess is that Farrell is using some anecdotal reason to sit Holt and to play Young. Like maybe one guy hits Estrada and the other doesn't?

 

As I said, just a guess!

 

In any case, I bet Holt sees the field today anyway as a runner of defensive replacement.
