One of the few guys who ever played for the Yankees whom everyone could always respect. Hell of a player and a great face for baseball for the last 60 or 70 years. He will be missed. Everyone should attend his funeral, or he won't attend theirs.

Yup, baseball has lost a good one.

He was a Yankee, but nobody is perfect.

I never saw him play as I came to enjoy baseball in 1966.

I do remember him saying a lot of funny things.

Baseball needs more Yogis.

RIP Yogi. Thank you for your service during WWII. He was sent to the Normandy beaches in advance of the D-Day invasion to draw enemy fire to find out the location of the machine gun nests. Truly heroic. As for his baseball accomplihments, as a Red Sox fan, I wish he had opted to sell cars instead of playing baseball when he returned from the war. No one will ever beat his record of 10 rings.

As a young kid, his name made him my favorite player that I've never heard of/seen. Only Sox equivalent I can think of is Ted, minus the rings, of course (that's our fault) or Yaz, if you want a positional comparison. Wish we had more like 'em over the years.

When I first fell in love with the game, Yogi was a fixture. God bless him. He was the real deal. What a player - what a person.
