An example of my earlier post----just need a single here. Homer would be great but one or two runs is more than no runs

Hows that?

I can live with, and accept, Tazawa giving up a homer. I've come to expect it from Breslow and Ogando

Well, scored 6 and lost..........

If it aint the offense, it's the defense, if it's not the defense it's the offense.....

Time to pull the Papi chain again. Play 1b or take a hike.

I'd say he had a pretty good game. He's the greatest clutch hitter of our generation. Relax.

Thats the problem of those who complain about certain great players lacking hustle. I personally think it's stupid to knock any great ball player for a lack of hustle. I would rather them hustle, but if they are performing well I don't find it a big deal at all if they don't hustle.

IMO, it doesn't matter how great a player is, a player is never bigger than the team or the game. Every player should play the game the right way, which includes always hustling. Papi is also a leader on this team. He should be leading by example.

He is one of my favorite players who gets a lifetime pass from me for what he's meant to the team, but I really dislike it that he does not run out his grounders.

He is a big man and an older player who has had leg issues in recent years. Over a 162 game schedule, even the legs of a DH get pretty sore. He has nothing to prove. I don't need to see him run hard on a one hopper to the pitcher and risk blowing a tire. Our offense is still centered around him. No one works harder at his craft-- and that is hitting and hitting for power. That's enough for me.

Papi we can live with. Ramirez not so much. When you have to wonder how you can hide a player in your lineup, you are going a little too far. They hoped that he could field a position. He can't. They don't want to move him or he doesn't want to move. If he was playing for someone else, he would not be missed. He is a dh and Cherington forgets that there is already someone filling that position. The last thing this team needs is one more player that someone wants to convert to another position in the field.
