Anyone but the Yanks...... is my motto now a days........

Right on Wright!!!!!!! He really had them fooled this game. I wonder if an aggressive well hitting team has a disadvantage against a knuckle ball.........

Posted
Porcello, Miley, Buch, Owens, ERod

It has to be better than that. . . . . . . . . . . .

We will trade pieces to get better than that........

Trade Koji my ass.

I would have traded him. I believe his contract is up. If so, you might as well get something for the future. Doesn't really matter if we win games this year anyway.

Sure we will. Now may I direct you to this website where you can buy loads of 2015 Sox merchandise, and every $50 spent gives you one entry in a draw for a Green Monster Seat at a 2016 game.

You have to have Miley and Porcello in the rotation. Both of them are owed a good chunk of change. So, the rotation is not going to be much different than this year.

He is signed through next year..........

I would have only traded him for an amazing starter or position player.

No my good man, he is signed for 2016. And there will be a 2016 season, believe it or not. And there's no rule saying you have to ship out every guy who has proven he can actually pitch, even if Ben tries to give us that impression.

We haven't seen enough of Owens, or E-Rod for that matter. Owens is projected as a 3 in the rotation. He is a trade chip for an Ace.............. Like Gray......

You can also afford to pay Buch 9 million to sit on the bench.......... so his spot is open.

And Porcello......... hmmmmm........... . if he continues to be really bad............ then you might have to do something drastic with him....

I like that thinking also. We do have to start paying people that have proved they can perform in Boston.

Koji should have been traded last year however. Could have got another ERod type prospect. And still could have resigned him, although it may have been more difficult.

I don't think the A's are going to trade us Sonny Grey. He's a very controllable 25 year old ace.

We have many controllable AAA and AA prospects.

They are looking at young controllable pitchers........ maybe not Gray......... but the FO is saying that is who they are trying to get............ how else are you going to get them without unloading some or major prospect talent........

the here is now........ or another last place finish.....

To get Sonny Grey, I'd imagine you'd have to package a better deal for him then the Texas Rangers put together for Hamels.

Don't forget blake.

Blakes a big chip..... . .

It really handcuffed us what happened to Vasquez this year........

Why does everyone want to trade Blake? He's the better of the two. Vasquez is a backup catcher.

Guys like Harvey, Fernandez, Gray, deGrom, Carrasco, etc are a pipedream. They cost a haul of very good young talent.

We need to develop those arms. It is going to take a time. In the meantime, there is not other route. We have spend at least in two proven, durable and consistent arms, otherwise we are going to be the same disgrace going forward. It is pretty clear that we have enough 5s who are performing like 7s.

Of all those arms, I think the one that could be obtained would be Harvey. I have been hearing that he is not very keen on the Mets organization, and they have little chance of holding onto him long term. It would take a big chip to get him, but I think Mookie would do it- probably straight up, because the Mets are desperate for Outfielders and speed.

If I were the Red Sox, I buy out Buckholtz remaining contract and get a free agent pitcher like, Cueto.

If the Sox decline Buch's $13 million option they only have to pay him $245K and he's a free agent.

Not sure what that has to do with coming up with $200 million or more for Cueto though.
