I see that Rusney is injured again. I love the hustle and the Web Gem plays in RF but it seems that this "young player" ( Remy's words, lol ) is always getting banged up.

I've been thinking about this "entitled" thing.

 

I guess that I must be entitled in some regard. After all, I have been spoiled by Sox teams that gave me hope that they could win any game on any day.

 

Now I see a team that does not offer the hope of a win every day.

 

So I must be entitled.

I've been thinking about this "entitled" thing.

You had become accustomed to being competitive on a daily basis. That is not entitled. You had a reasonable expectation of being competitive as you had become accustomed to it. You were not entitled to a winning team as entitled connotes that you have a right. As fans we have no right to anything except to watch and buy a seat. My guess is if we went through the credentials of all people on this board of how long and how they have followed the Sox, then the word entitled couldn't be used about any of them.

 

That is completely incorrect. You can be a long-life Red Sox fan of 50 or 60 years and be an entitled prick, or be a recent convert who isn't. It's all about the attitude, the negativity, the idea that the Red Sox owe you something, that there's no room for failure, etc.

 

But whatever, this topic has been beaten into oblivion.
