Whose fault was Castillo getting out advancing on the throw?

Mine. I threw a banana peel onto the field right before he rounded 2nd.

You got to see a good game and the weather was perfect. I'm happy for you.

I think it's safe to say that he offense has turned the corner.

I got some really good pictures. I'll post them when I get home, probably around 6:30.

These are not as good quality as I'd anticipated. I guess it's the best I could do with my iPhone camera zoomed all the way in. 1, 2, 3, and 9 are in the seats we bought, while the rest are in the good seats that my uncle won.

1. My view during my lunch of 2 Fenway Franks. I've never seen better weather at a ballgame.

2. Trout hitting in the 1st

3. Pedey hitting in the 1st

4. As you can tell from the scoreboard, it's the 3rd inning. It's Mookie, but it looks like Hanley.

5. No caption needed here.

6. Rusney in the on deck circle, and Trout in the background.

7. Trout moments before he knocks his RBI double. It's the same pitch. I'm proud of this picture. Timed it perfectly.

8. The Panda getting ready to pinch hit. The crowd exploded when he came out on deck. Great moment.

9. Koji!!!! I was on the videoboard when he was warming up in between innings. A NESN cameraman was sitting a couple rows in front of us, and he turned around in between innings.

Watch it! I'm not that bad this year.

As for at the game mojo, it's always been pretty good. I wasn't at a game last year, but went to 2 in 2013: the day before the Marathon bombings, and in June against the Angels. They were both wins, and the former was a solid start by Clay in which he had a no-no through 6 2/3. As for today, the guy behind me jinxed the Miley perfect game bid, but I called the Napoli HR.

We lose too many guys on the bases. Where was Napoli going!

Interestingly, there is a stat for that. ;)

It's called TOOTBLAN (Thrown Out On The Bases Like A Nincompoop). It does not include caught stealing.

The Sox are tied for 11th in outs made on the bases with 18. The Rays have the most with 24 and the Jays have the fewest with 13.

Pedroia leads the team with 5.

Nice pics Thunder.

Glad you had a great time and the Sox were able to give you a win!

Good game all around - good pitching, good defense, good offense.

How have I been keeping score without this knowledge? lol

Ah, but if do they have a stat for TOOTBLAN adjusted as a percentage of base runners? In that case, we surely are the worst in both leagues.

LOL

It's good stuff to have in your back pocket, just in case.

There is no TOOTBLAN calculated as a percentage. However, Fangraphs has UBR, Ultimate Base Running, which calculates how many runs teams have gained or lost due to baserunning. It penalizes teams for getting thrown out trying to advance an extra base, getting picked off, etc., and awards points for taking an extra base on a single, scoring on a shallow sac fly, etc.

The Sox rank 23rd in baserunning with a UBR of -2.4 runs. That should make you happy. ;)

Once again Kimmi, the stats bear out my observations of the game. Not surprising as my baseball mainframe computer mind processes my observations, stores the data, and crunches all of the relevant stats in real time. ;):P It doesn't make me happy that that we are at the bottom of this category. I find it tremendously frustrating that we run the bases in such a reckless manner when we are having trouble scoring runs. Edited by a700hitter
