There is no such thing as a Jets fan, much like Mets fans also do not exist. There are simply Giants or Yankees fans who are pissed off at their team and need to step away for a little while and root for something else. The Jets have been pretty ugly the last couple of years though, even for them. I haven't seen Jets in New York this bad since 9/11.

Hmm, really? I like the Giants but the Jets are my team and have been since the late '70's, so I don't think I fit this profile!

Jets fans aren't willing to step forward and out themselves. I'm not a fan at all but these latest guys can't be any worse than the last two, right? Right?

Well, I am! And I do think the new duo will get this thing headed back in the right direction. There is a decent amount of talent on the team, especially defensively, and a lot of cap space, an owner

willing to spend and the #6 pick..... And a guy in charge of personnel who, you know, actually has done scouting and talent evaluation... So I am cautiously optimistic about the immediate future of the team.

Mets have been a disaster zone for years. Their roster's been a hapless sack of s*** for the most part. No idea what David Wright thought he was doing reupping when he was free and clear.

Well, in pretty much any other baseball team with a large fanbase, (Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals, et cetera), he'd be a forgettable player at most. He's good, but not overwhelmingly great, and in a big-media team he'd be way too milquetoast to stand out. On the Mets, though, he's basically Derek Jeter or David Ortiz. I can see how being the face of a franchise and the go-to guy for the team and its fans would have an appeal, as opposed to being the voice in the background in the Bronx or Chicago or wherever.

Being a Miami Dolphins fans is no bed of roses either. In the next to last season game of the year their stupid owner Steven Ross was so elated with a lucky win that he went overboard and said s*** face coach Joe Philbin would be back with open arms next season thereby guaranteeing Fish fans with another season of mediocrity and s***** coaching. It could be worse I guess. The Raiders could still be in Los Angeles and I would be rooting for a team even worse. BTW, I don't give a s*** if we ever get another pro team in LA. Unless the team was nails the stadium would be half full and we get those damn blackouts we got when the horseshit Rams and fading Raiders were here. I don't miss that at all.

Maybe he looked at the future pitching in the minors and liked it? Mets could have an awesome rotation this year. If they stay healthy, and Matt Harvey is 100% the will be in most of their games....

The owner was caught saying he wasn't a superstar. The team went through all the Madoff crap and for a while it looked like it might bankrupt them. They've been generally inept in their management. There were lots of good reasons for him to walk away and no-one would have blamed him.

Gangrene would be an improvement over being a Jets fan.

I hear that a lot. People think I'm a Seahawks bandwagoner, but I'm rooting for them out of my natural hate for the Pats.

Here I am!!! Go Gang Green, and I don't mean the disease.

So what do you think about the GM and HC (and staff) hirings?
