Where is he going?

He better not be going anywhere. Anyone with half a brain knows how important a knock down closer is.....and Koji has been just that. As for Cespedes, keep in mind that the team would be 0-2 instead of 2-0 without his power bat. Now Prune Face Henry has to get that damn checkbook out and be ready to resign Koji and be prepared to give a nice extension to Yeonis. We may not even need Stanton now so long as some of the others start contributing from here on in into next season. But oh, how I would love Jon Lester to come back to Boston even though I'm probably whistling past the graveyard.

Mujica is looking very good since the All Star break. I wonder if the Red Sox will get rid of him through the waiver wire.

Better keep him. One thing we don't have in abundant supply is good late inning relievers.

It depends on what teams would give up for Mujica. He's owed 4.75 million next year, so he may be a rare reliever to sneak through waivers. With so few options out there, who knows who might get desperate.

One thing I have noticed is that since the trades, our starting pitching has been pretty good. Kelly just had one bad inning with a couple of walks, but after that, he was lights out. The games we've lost since the trade have all been pretty close. We now have another offensive weapon who can help us win games, and I'm really optimistic about the end of this season and next season. We are going to get hot and make a run soon. We still won't make the playoffs, but will salvage the season by winning 75-80 games, maybe more. But next year, well that's a different story. I would like everyone to meet the 2015 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox.

Painfully, the one-more-bat-theory may have been correct all along.

Certainly takes the load off Ortiz's shoulders.
