Heyman reporting the Yanks are only willing to offer Headley 3 years and his agents are "scouring" the market. So they are gonna skimp with Headley and do what exactly, play Arod at 3B?

I heard Headley was asking for 5 years. I was surprised to find that his agent is Hendricks. Trying to pull a Boras move doesn't usually work for the small time shops, this will bite Headley in the ass.

I believe the perception was that Headley would sign with the Yankees or go elsewhere on a pillow contract. His agents moves are a surprise to me.

Still, if the Yankees do want him then he will be in pinstripes in 2015.

We can only hope. They will not eat ARod's contract or they would have done so already. ARod showing up in Florida and the whole circus environment that will follow is all plus for the Sox. Jeter knew!

I wonder if Arod and his circus the next 3 years is going to effect any FA thoughts on signing with NY. I'm not trying to start any s***, I'm actually curious what the Yankee faithful feel about that. Is it a big deal?

No, because you sign with the Yankees because they offered you money. Bitch tits doesn't play into this

Word is Yankees are going after Miller, and before that the rumors floating around were that he was going to get the biggest non CL RP deal ever. Multiple 3 year deals, so a 4th year is likely. I like Miller but we all know how BP arms are. I'd be weary of his price tag. But I never saw the point in giving any RP big $ not named Mo anyways so.

I think Miller fits for us. We have a lefty flamethrower in the minors who we just drafted, but signing Miller allows us to hit the pause button on this kid and let him develop (Lindgren). The cost will be a lot, as it should be. But having a 1-2 hammer of Betances and Miller at the back end with a 7th inning rotation of Kelley, Warren and the others coming up the pipe makes sense. There was no point in bringing Robertson back at big money. He has been great, no doubt, but adding in the cost of the draft pick, plus the fact that we have RH relief prospects coming out of our ears makes it an easy call. In terms of lefties, it looks like Lindgren, Patsos and Webb are our big guys in the minors and the only one who looks can't miss is Lindgren.

Looks like Headley is gone. He's looking for a five year deal now, and that's just not feasible for NY. Prado will be our full time 3b and Refsnyder and Pirela will battle for 2b. Still interested to see what happens at SS.

And now we hear there is a mystery team in on the Lester sweepstakes. Mystery my ass. It's your money grubbing outfit.

I am pretty sure we are in on Lester. The lack of a draft pick attached and the fact that he is left handed in our stadium is huge. He should be donning the pinstripes, IMO. As should Miller. To be totally honest, aside from adding Lester and Miller, we shouldn't really be doing much else. We are stuck with the team we have. You roll with Tanaka and Pineda and CC and hope the rotation can stay healthy and that our offensive players perform to the backs of their baseball cards

It's now being reported that the mystery team is the Dodgers.

You're expecting A-Rod and Teixeira and Beltran to bounce back to their career averages?

The Yankees, Diamondbacks and Tigers have completed a three-team trade that will send Didi Gregorius to the Yankees, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (Twitter link). Rosenthal adds that Robbie Ray will indeed go from the Tigers to the Diamondbacks and Shane Greene will be heading to the Tigers. WFAN’s Sweeny Murti first reported the potential framework and noted that Greene would head to Detroit if the deal were to be completed. Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic first tweeted that Ray could be headed to Arizona.

Well there is your SS. Kinda surprised they traded Greene. Wasn't he one of the better SP prospects coming up?

Not expecting Tex or Bitch Tits to play like its 2009 again. I meant Prado, Ellsbury, and McCann and to a degree Gardner. Our entire offense went dead last year. Tex played too much. Beltran was hurt the whole time. Bitch Tits will likely suck. I'm just saying that due to contractual obligations, we don't have much room. And because we overpaid for those players, we kinda have to ride with them since nobody will take them off our hands. That being said, Gregorius is a young player known for his defense. At the very least, he'll be a major defensive upgrade over last yr and won't have to do much to be better offensively. Let's see how he does when the job is clearly his. Don't like having to give up on Greene, but if Gregorius is our SS of the future, it's worth it. Not sure if he is, but we have to see what he can do with a change of scenery

Greene was interesting. He was a recent convert to pitching when we drafted him, but his stuff was special. He never really dominated at any level, a la Ivan Nova and then put it together all of a sudden when he was promoted. He's old for a rookie at 27, but he showed he deserved a spot in the rotation. The fact that they're dealing him says to me that they're definitely adding to their rotation via trade or FA.

The one thing that bothers me a little here is they sold high on Greene and bought low on Gregorius. I thought they could get more for Greene, to be totally honest

You and everyone else it would seem. I'm not seeing many positive opinions anywhere. He does look like an elite glove tho. He can hit 9th and won't be an issue if the rest of the lineup hits. This is just like the Iglesias situation for the Sox. Anything he hits is a + as long as the glove is elite.

I'm kinda surprised they went for a youngster to replace Jeter. That could be a lot for a young player to handle. I figured they were going to go with some veteran for 2-3 years before trying to get the "real" Jeter replacement.

IF they go big money, they better be getting Lester. This would be our highest draft pick in decades and I'd rather keep it and get an ace than sacrifice it to get one

I think you are right but I just can't see them keeping the pick. Not until they do I guess. They just seem to always burn the pick every year they finish with a nice 1st rd slot. And when they do you usually say f*** get everyone haha

Lester would make a ton of sense for the Yankees. As much as I would loath to see him in NY I believe this is what happens.
