I have Buch in one of my fantasy leagues and complete game shutouts are worth a lot of points, but it is pointless for Farrell to send him out for the 9th in an 11-0 game with the All Star break tomorrow. He's over 100 pitches.

I missed all of this for a memorial service for my grandfather, a longtime diehard Sox fan. Fitting that we would have a great day on the day my family said goodbye.

Overall, I'm pleased again with Vazquez. He has hit well since coming up, contrary to the Mookies and JBJs of the world. Plus, he's a catcher. Keep throwing up those numbers at the plate, and he'll be playing everyday.

Still need to work on capitalizing with RISP. That bases loaded thing in the first shouldn't have happened. And I'm not convinced about Clay, because, well, these are the Astros, who combined for 18 hits in the whole series, against the Red Sox' 41. Great offensive showing this weekend, certainly a great sign moving forward.

Very sorry for your loss Thunder.

Its always good to get into the All-star break with lots of momentum. If Buchholz is actually back to being Buchholz, the pitching seems very strong. Lester, Lackey, good-Buchholz, RDLR, Workman/Peavy seems very effective.

Dumping AJ adds good mojo for the team. Bradley has started heating up. The Nava/Gomes platoon is working again. Mookie Madness may soon invade Red Sox Nation. Victorino may be back in RF soon enough. Drew has been pulling up his OPS, and will eventually get back to his .750-.800 type OPS numbers.

Bradley and Bogaerts -- the 2 kids have killed us today with the bases loaded DP's.

I've said it all along Ted----Bogaerts is a total disaster hitting with RISP. Remember, I called him a potential choker as early as mid-April and he has done nothing to convince me otherwise except that now is not just a potential choker, he's the real thing.

sk--when I see Bogaerts start driving in runs on a consistent basis then I will back off on him. He has shown nothing in that regard and, in fact, has been downright pathetic in that regard, hitting less than 150 in those situations with strikeouts and double play grounders. He has been projected to be a superstar but I have reservations about him but none where the rumor of his being part of a package for a trade for Giancarlo Stanton. I would make such a trade in a millisecond.
