I'm surprised that Carp beat out Nava. Nava has had a few line drives caught (bad luck) but his defense has been garbage. He was a dependable platoon guy last year. Oh well. Enjoy the lightning in a bottle while it lasts.

From what I've seen of Carp his defense is worse than Nava's. I think Nava plays a serviceable defense in left field and is not fast enough to play open expanses like right field in Fenway. The Sox put him there and in center out of apparent need. At first base, he was inexperienced and a work in progress.

Carp is with the team because he has good power off the bench.

Nava will likely be back after he gets it together at the plate.

Lackey has been torched two games in a row. Pineda has been dominant. The great thing about baseball is that all can change game to game. If Lackey isn't on point, he's dead. This new look Yankee squad is more well rounded than previous seasons, and harder to beat

This guy struts too much ass so early in the season.

Sarcasm and ridicule can be a real pisser except for the targets of that so-called humor. None of it is good natured.

no you dont understand it. you are just being negative.

Nava has options, plus he's off to a slow start. No damage done. I hope Workman is up. He should have never been down. Carp is needed as 1b backup. My view is OF should be Size-JBJ-Vic.

That OF would have some awesome range.

Anyone have any news on Middlebrooks? We need some more power added into the bottom half of the line up.

Will Middlebrooks (calf) could be activated from the disabled list as soon as this weekend.

Middlebrooks has played in one rehab game for Triple-A Pawtucket and is expected to play in two more before being re-evaluated. If the Red Sox decide he's ready at that point, he'll be activated for the weekend series in Toronto. Middlebrooks had three hits -- one homer -- in 13 at-bats before going on the DL earlier this month. Apr 23 - 8:30 AM

Really I'm expecting a loss for the Redsox tonight, they really need to get their s*** together real soon and start winning some games. Lackey won't do s*** tonight.
