Prior to yesterday, they had scored the same amount of runs as the sox so far.

Well our offense isn't exactly anything short of pathetic at the present time either Jacko. I think 700Hitter is aware of that and is as embarrassed by our rotten hitting as I am.

And no one has denied the Sox offense being pathetic thus far. Its sad how bad they've been.

The Sox offense is in disarray and has been to a large extent impotent so far.

Dose anyone here really believe that this will continue throughout the entire season?

Loosing Ellsbury was a big blow and injuries have hurt as well. Then we have guys like Ortiz who have underperformed.

Things will click eventually. I hope.

They are on pace to score 571 runs, which is slightly better than the 2013 Marlins. I don't think the offense is that bad. They won't hit .192 with RISP the entire season.

I don't know where we found this Solarte kid, but he is a pro. He makes consistent contact, has a good eye and can hit for power. I looked at his MiLB numbers, and he has been good all the way through. Looks like we might have found our long term 2b

Dojji feels the same way about Daniel Nava. Although, he might win the 2B job in 2015 by default.

Nava is playing a premier offensive position. If this kid can hit .270/.330/.400, he'll be worth his weight in gold. Right now, he's killing the ball, AND walking

He has a double digit BB% at one level in the minors. He did it in 2009 over a 39 PA sample. .270/.330/.400 is about what he produced as a 25 and 26 year old at AAA ball. He's probably better than Roberts, but I wouldn't bet a lot of money on a 27 year old rookie who is having a fast start.

If he's at .700 OPS, he could be useful if he can defends well at 2B. I don't know enough to say either way.

Erik Bedard AKA 'The White Flag of Surrender' pitching for the Rays. Talk about a game being over before it starts.

Kind of like us at the moment against the Orioles. Are you watching the game? We can't get on base, hit too damn many pop flies and can't seem to hit with RISP when we do get on base.

Aren't there enough threads in which you are burying the team without moving to parts of the forum that have nothing to do with the Sox?

Anyways, I originally came in here to ask if anyone knew the record for HBPs without recording an out, because I think Cabral must have at least tied it today.

Rays are his fifth team since 2011. Somewhat unsurprising, he was born and raised in Norwalk, CT, which is about 45 minutes out of NYC and a little over an hour from me.

That should be a positive sign for a rebound. Hitting .192 with with RISP will not occur over a full season. Not even the Astros can manage that.

Still, the Yankee rotation has been better than many had expected.

It will be interesting to see how CC performs throughout the season. I for one do not believe that his velocity is down JUST because of the weight loss. If he is healthy, I suspect that he will adapt one way or another. Good veteran pitchers continue to learn and change to remain effective.

CC has thrown 6 or more innings in every start and he has been victimized by the "bad inning". He's also struck out a ton of batters. He'll be fine, IMO, as he isn't just a fastball pitcher. He is showing adaptation and I think he'll have a sub 4ERA with 200IP this season. Nova runs so hot and cold that we don't have a choice but to stick with him. When he's on, he's got Cy Young type stuff. When he's off, he's a Juggs machine throwing cockshots. It's almost like he lacks fight. He doesn't seem to have the killer instincts that other starters have. The gusto that the great pitchers have, where if they have nothing, they still guy out 5-6IP without getting s*** on.

And people wonder why our pythag is all f***ed up. When we get down by 6 or more, Girardi tries to get as much as he can out of his starter, then he throws in the scrubs until they burn out. When we lose, we lose big. When we win, we win close
