Yes, but his stats reflected that he was overmatched. I understand the sample size, but you've gotta admit his ST stats didn't help him.

I can't wait to see the look on that prick Barry Bonds' face when Chris Heisey and Luis Valbuena get close to 71 home runs. I'm also pumped about the possibility of Marwin Gonzalez and Logan Schafer's challening The Splendid Splinter's batting average record. Schafer only hit .379, but with a little luck, I'm sure he's going to build on it!

Vic tweaked his hammy swinging, and now he's back to Boston for an MRI. This is precisely what they were concerned about when they sent down JBJ. They have no backup for Vic in RF. Nava is a defensive liability in RF at Fenway. Are they rethinking things? Maybe.

The Yankees already "scooped up" Aceves to go with Bailey and Ellsbury, and are pretty desperate for pitching. Cordero's problem is he didn't show anything more than what he had in Toronto, where he was hit pretty hard. ST can be a mirage--the competition is very spotty, and some players are not yet focused.

Fifty something at-bats, a 150 average or thereabouts, 16 strikeout etc, is enough of a sample size to tell scouts and front office personnel that the previous high regard for Bradley was either wrong or they over-hyped a player who still needed seasoning. One hundred at-bats would have been better but enough was seen that even if they didn't have Sizemore there would be reason to worry if Bradley was going to be able to hit ML pitching. Coupled with his dismal performance last season, and the fact that he hit only 275 at Pawtucket, that's enough of a sample size to intimate that this guy just might not be the hitter they thought he would be. Not stupid at all, but perhaps a miscalculation on the part of some scouts who thought Bradley was better than what he has shown. Sorry to see it but if doesn't turn it around at Pawtucket it's possible we could have a potential bust on our hand. I hope not.

I'm not ridiculing you or trying to confront you about JBJ. I just suspect that you are overreacting and reaching a bit Fred.

Bradley is very young and has about one full year of experience over single A at this point. His development must continue. No one questions his ability to be a MLB center fielder ( defensively ). Any mention of him possibly being a bust is premature at this point. The Sox appear to have known coming into spring that he still has weaknesses at the plate. That is why they brought Sizemore in for a look see.

Pedroia struggled when he came up. Now look at him. Just have patience.

Well, IMO While ST stats are not that important for certain proven players - 2014 Papi -, they do matter for those who want to make the roster and make a case - 2013 JBJ, 2014 GS.

JBJ is going to be around sooner or later anyways, SV and GS are huge question marks regarding healthiness.

Really? It's called adding depth. They got Aceves on a minor league deal with an opt out in a month or two. It's a no brainer. If he pitches well, he comes back up, if not, there's no commitment.
