Good news. They should both be at Fenway before too long.

And when they come up Bradley must go down. He is terrible and I don't want to hear any s*** about sample sizes on him anymore. You take 2013, ST and up to now and he is under 200. He cannot hit and will not hit and he doesn't have the speed to steal bases and is a liability in the lineup. Also back up the truck and take Sizemore, Gomes and Mujica with them.

The Red Sox picked up two high school players in the first round tonight. One is a SS, and the other is a RHP. Awaiting some more info from one of the more prospect-minded posters !

Michael Chavis is a shortstop but projects also as a third baseman and is rated one of the very best high school hitters in the country. Scouts said today they were surprised he lasted that long for the Red Sox to grab him. He is not an outfielder like we need but, then again, infielders routinely are switched to the outfield nowadays. If the kid can hit, all reports say he will, we got ourselves a real top prospect. Michael Kepich was also said to have lasted longer than scouts figured he would and projects as a potential solid starting pitcher. He has a fastball clocked around 92, excellent for high school and those Texas pitchers usually throw real heat. So far so good as far as I can see. Now let's get two g ood hitters for the outfield so we don't have to stomach what we have out there right now.

Fred, you realize that even if they drafted 12 OFers that it would help the big league team for another 3 years at least...

This isn't football. You don't draft for need.

A couple of days ago after being swept by Cleveland I came to the harsh conclusion that his season is done, finished, wasted and over. Time to start rebuilding the team and in my opinion it needs to start now. We are not going anywhere this season. That seven game winning streak was a mirage and to me the front office is in a confused state and proved it with the signing of Stephen Drew. All it did was add another weak hitter to an already ailing lineup, and now we see we're even platooning there with Herrera. How can you expect to compete with stiffs like that playing a key position for you? In the next few weeks there will be posters on this board who will offer suggestions of what we ought to do, and I hope the front office is thinking the same way. We are done this season. We must rebuild. And I also like the first baseman we drafted today. A good RH power hitter built for Fenway Park.....like the Chavis kid. Maybe they will develop into the players that will make us successful again in a few years along with Swihart, Cecchini, Owens and Renaudo.....and, yes, maybe even your boy De La Rosa.

When you have as s***** an outfield as we have you DO draft for need.

The way I look at it, you draft the best available player, regardless of position or MLB needs. I do understand your frustration with the OF, we all have it, but that is why I am hoping we could possibly see Betts in September. We need to ship Bradley's ass to Pawtucket. Hell, if Betts keeps this hot streak up, I wouldn't be surprised if we see him in the majors before September. I just don't think that we can draft a high school player for a current need, because it won't have an impact for a while and by the time they have any direct MLB impact, the current needs could be altered.

Good point RSF3. Still we have to do something about our outfield. Offensively it is the worst in baseball. Remember, we are the Red Sox. Offense is often our calling card.

Betts in CF. Hopefully, he makes the transition to the OF without effecting his hitting.

Went to Friday's game. He looked ok. No real issues in CF.

Barnes pitched well until his last inning. Good command.

Cecchini was solid. Vasquez had a decent night too.

Whatever!!!!! Just keep coming up with some good news. We all can use some.

Good news? Ok.

We got to sit on the infield grass and watch the post game fireworks.

One other observation: Cecchini's walk up music is embarrassingly bad.

I'll be going to Thursday's game as well and will try to note how Renaudo looks.

I hate walk up music. You can't even have a conversation at a game anymore with all the blaring.

I think it's just another feeble attempt to appeal to younger fans. It's just stupid!

Another day in the life of Henry Owens; 6.2 ip, 1er, 1bb/7k

Swihart 2/4 HR (7th), he's hitting .291

Mookie at AAA, picks up his 2nd HR on a 2/4 night, with a stolen base

Ranaudo with 5.2 ip scoreless ball, he only allowed 4er his last 6 starts.

That is good news and it will be nice to see these guys along with Cecchini performing for us in the near future. Some of the current choke bastards that we have are making me sick to my stomach.

Owens

7IP 0R 2BB/8K

Betts 3/5 hitting .324

Both gotta be top 10 prospect mid season.

Oh Station, we don't need those guys. We have Bradley and Drew to carry the load for us........like an anchor. Then of course, who needs Owens when we have Peavy and Doubrant? SICKENING!!!!!!!

Mookie Betts extended his hitting streak to eight games with a 2-for-4 night and stealing his sixth base since being promoted (he’s been caught two times). He also drew a walk and struck out twice. Just a week ago, Betts’ average in Triple-A had fallen to .267, but he’s hit .389 over his last eight games, boosting his line through 20 games with Pawtucket to .321/.402/.457 in which he’s reached base in every contest

Heck of a prospect to watch. He might be the next Pedroia.
