How many more years does Papi have left in him? I hope 3.

Id say 1 more, maybe 2. He's about to turn 38 and not sure how more many seasons his body can handle.

I don't think this was a bad showing by Buch at all. The longer Buch stayed out the less likely he would come back as dominant as he was. I think it is pretty remarkable that he is doing as well so far as he has been doing....which is part of the problem with landing on the shelf for such a long period of time.

Still think the whole thing could have been managed better by all parties involved. But, it is what it is.

I don't think 2 or 3 is out of the question. He's busted his ass the last couple years to stay in shape and as a DH, the wear on his body isn't as great as if he'd spent his whole career in the field.

He is not playing the field .... as long as he can stay relatively trim and his feet hold up ... he can make it to 40. He has a great eye for the strike zone ... in fact he looks better than ever ... often he gets bad calls on outside pitches that he lays off ... Love this guy!

And he missed the month of April. The guy just killed it this season.

Truly remarkable ... he may go down as the best DH to play the game.

Fun fact: as of right now, the only three players in the mlb who have at least a .300 average, at least 100 rbi's, and at least

30 hrs are big papi, miguel cabrera, and paul goldschmidt. Great season papi.

This will be win 97. That is truly astounding to me. That would equal the win total of the 2007 team. That team was stacked with talent and people expected them to win a lot, but i don't think anyone expected them to win as musch as the 2007 team. If they win 1 of the next 2, it will be the most wins for the Sox since the magical and talent-laden 2004 team. If they win the next 2, that will be the most wins since 1978. Unbelievable.

I'm pretty sure we were 95-67 in 2007.

I hope Papi will be around for 3 more after this one ... Having two great leaders as Papi and Pedroia on the same club is worth a lot.

Man, so you're telling that a700, he who claims to never be wrong, was absolutely and completely wrong about this team? Because there's a loooooong way between 4th place in the ALE missing the playoffs, and best record in baseball.
