Hellickson (11-8, 5.04, 28 starts)

This guy hasn't made it to the sixth inning in five of his last seven starts, but I'm a little concerned because it always seems like the scrubs get up for the Sox, especially if opposing team's aces aren't quite getting it done... oh who am I kidding. They're gonna kicks Hellickson's little boy scrotum right into his throat while hitting holes through Tropicana's scoreboard.

Sadly I will not be able to witness the action. Five hours of night classes mojo? Lovechild of MacEnroe and McCarver mojo? Try not to hang myself from the ceiling mojo?

Yup I agree.

The Sox are going to sweep the Yankees this weekend and really put a dent in their post season hopes.

Bogaerts playing tonight. He'll go deep.

I don't know why, but I've always been less comfortable facing the Yankees at Fenway than at YS (either one). I'm not entirely sure why, maybe it was the subconscious feeling that when both teams were elite, any games we could get over there were gravy, while the pressure was on to hold serve at home. Plus they had a lineup full of guys who could abuse the monster. Anyone else ever had that feeling in BOS/NYY matchups?

Not that this edition of the Yankees should make anyone worried, it's just something that occurred to me just now.

Wonder how many folks will still watch the baseball game tonight with the Pats on. Myself I have such a hard time watching football as it is no longer the game I played and loved when I was young. I have little interest in watching wideouts and slot receivers running wild in secondaries when in truth they should have been knocked on their asses. None of the changes baseball has made like the DH are anywhere near as telling on the actual game as the changes the NFL has made are on that game.

Good example of why Nava really can't play RF for more than a couple games before being in trouble. Love him but he is no RFer.

I think it is the other way honestly. Nava has seen very little time in RF fortunately. If he had more time out there I think his deficiencies would be that much more glaring. He is a fill there at best. If he had to play RF regularly it would be pretty close to disastrous I think.

It's raining really hard here as well. It started thundering, so I went outside to put the car windows up. It started raining between when I left my front door and got to the car parked on the curb in front of the house, and by the time I got the windows up the seats and inside of the doors were already soaked.

Go Pedey!

Heard a great interview with Pedey on Dan Patrick's show today. He was awesome as expected. Admitted he's only 5' 8", I AM taller than him.

Love him!

New England has seen a tremendous amount of thunder and lightning since the beginning of September. My pets are all nervous wrecks. They have taken to gathering together in one giant lump and then moving the entire giant lump onto my lap, including a couple 75 pounders. They appear to have decided that if we are going, we are all going together, humans, cats, dogs, the whole nine yards.

My dog looks to go hide in the corner of the bottom of the closet.

My old dog used to prefer hiding in the bathtub. The two new ones aren't bothered by the thunder, but the bigger one is a wuss when it comes to the rain. He has to be practically dragged outside to go to the bathroom in the rain, and he avoids water as best as he can. If we come up to a puddle during a walk, he'll lift one foot up like a princess, huff loudly, and then go around it. I've never seen a dog his size that hated water like that.

Old dog would shake hours before the slightest drizzle. A good weather forecaster. The new guy isn't phased by thunder or lightning. We'll see how he deals with snow.

My little one loves snow. The big storm last winter dumped snow about twice as high as her, and she was loving it. We had to keep an eye on her to make sure she didn't entomb herself and freeze to death. She kept eating snow like it was bacon. You could see the crazy joy in her eyes. "OMG FREE FOOD ON THE GROUND YOU GUYS ITS EVERYWHERE!!!!"
