Pettitte (10-9, 4.01 ERA)

This team is hot. We will continue to kick some ass tonight. Doubront redeems himself tonight and Pettitte gets hit hard. Keep calm and have faith in the Red Sox. Lets get this win boys.

NESN adds more replacements for Remy

By Peter Abraham, Globe Staff

NEW YORK — NESN has named more replacements for Red Sox analyst Jerry Remy. Here is the schedule of who will be joining Don Orsillo:

Tonight: Dennis Eckersley

Sunday: Dan Petry

Monday-Thursday: Derek Lowe

Sept. 13-22: Eckersley

Sept. 24-25: Mike Timlin

The recently retired Lowe, who lives in Florida, will join Orsillo for the three games against Tampa Bay. Timlin, also a member of the 2004 Red Sox, will work the two games in Colorado.

Remy will miss the remainder of the season following the arrest of his son for murder. He has not called a game since Aug. 15. Jared W. Remy was arrested that night and charged with murder and other crimes in the death of his girlfriend, Jennifer Martel.

Game time: 7:05 p.m.

TV/Radio: NESN, YES, MLB Network / WEEI, WCBS.

Red Sox vs. Pettitte: Ortiz 24-67, Pedroia 11-48, Ellsbury 10-30, Gomes 11-31, McDonald 8-26, Napoli 7-21, Victorino 7-23, Ross 5-15, Drew 4-12, Salty 1-9, Middlebrooks 3-5, Carp 0-3, Nava 1-3, Snyder 0-2.

Yankees vs. Doubront: Cano 2-18, Granderson 2-13, Reynolds 2-13, Suzuki 2-13, Jeter 2-13, Gardner 1-10, Nunez 4-8, Wells 2-7, Rodriguez 3-8, Stewart 1-4, Overbay 1-4, Soriano 2-3, Romine 0-1.

Stat of the Day: Victorino is hitting .313 with a .410 on-base percentage and a .522 slugging percentage batting righthanded against righthanders. He has four home runs. Oddly, he also has been nine times in 78 plate appearances,

Notes: The Sox have won three straight, six of seven and 10 of 12. They start the day 6.5 games ahead of the Rays (who have lost nine of 12) in the division and three games up on the Tigers in the race for the best record in the league. ... The Yankees are nine games out in the division and 2.5 games out in the wild card. ... Napoli is hitting .361 with a 1.147 OPS in his last 10 games. He has six extra-base hits and nine RBIs. ... Middlebrooks is hitting .347/.412/.560 in 23 games since being recalled. He has eight extra-base hits and 14 RBIs. ... Doubront is 2-1 but with a 5.47 ERA in his last five starts. That includes a rocky start (4 IP 8 H, 6 ER) against the Yankees on Aug. 16. But Doubront is 3-2, 3.33 in 11 games against the Yankees in his career and has a 1.26 ERA in 14.1 innings at Yankee Stadium. ... Pettitte is 3-0, 1.20 in his last five starts. He beat Doubront in that Aug. 16 game, allowing three runs (none earned) over 6.2 innings. Pettitte is 20-11, 3.76 in 42 career games against the Red Sox. ... The Sox are 27 of their last 27 in stolen bases, the longest streak in the majors since Toronto stole 38 in a row successfully in 1993.

yankee caps out in force here in New England. These traitors to humanity are convinced that the power of roids will carry them to the post season yet again. I read a poll where yankee fans still give them 80% odds to still win the division.

Time to crush the windpipe.

CT is pretty mixed. They aren't necessarily traitors.

CT. is part of New England, we have an MLB team, ny is not New England, they have about eleven major sports teams so that when one fails there is always more teams to gloat about.

It might be worth it to watch a few spanks games just to see Jeter gimp around. He looks pretty pitiful now.

I would really like to see some of the Sox players start to get some rest going into the end of the season now that we have this big lead. Pedey is clearly exhausted...lazy DP attempt almost hurt last night....Vic needs rest...Taz is just about spent again this year.

a-rod trying to steal so he can pose for the cameras. That's right, make the Red Sox the villain, the fans of the other 29 teams really see no problem with your ********.
