So now that Ortiz has been an integral part of three WS teams, including one of the most dominant WS showings a player has ever managed, are there any changes to anyone's stance on this discussion?

 

For a the horribleness these bean counters have wrought this year, this is what you care about?!?!?!? The only numbers that should be retired are 1, 4 and 9. The rest of the guys up there were pampered princesses making more money than they deserved! Yeah, that includes Yazbumski who could hit in the clutch for s***!

So did Pedro, but when the emotions calm a little, you have to admit that they were all otherworldly talents who, without them, you wouldn't have won the titles you did.

Pedro didn't shove a traveling secretary, get into a battle of fisticuffs with a teammate, fake injury, etc etc etc. Apples and oranges.

Big Papi is automatic, Pedro is a big yes, Clemens I hope not, and Manny is doubtful.

Manny has been caught with his pants down so many times, he's an embarrassment, even though he had a lot of great years in Boston.Pedro, Papi and Clemens will get in. Pedro obviously. 1st ballot HOFer. Clemens, too, since his years in Boston were clean--and successful.Papi has had so many big hits you can't count them--maybe more than any other Sox player. Though Yaz and Williams must have had a lot, Papi has been in many more playoff and WS situations.
