Ive always wanted to make one of these things, it seems cool.

Ryan Dumpster looks to be less s***** than normal in a pitchers duel waiting to happen vs Todd Redmond.

WOOO, go Red Sox. Red Sox Nation. Canada sucks. ETC ETC ETC.

Isn't there some kind of order or chain of command for posting GT's anyhow? I'm surprised we don't see a lot of double posts, especially with the new posters doing GTs now too.

Well I'm not posting anymore GT's, so we don't have to worry about that.

Not that I'm aware of. If the team wins, the GT is posted by the poster who created the winning GT. Otherwise it is a free-for-all.

With as many posters as there are now, there should be some kind of system to keep from confusion

I think the "System" we have now is fine. Its been working for like 9 years, and I've seen the site much more active than it was now. I see no reason to change it.

Exactly. Gamethread mistakes are rare and only made when really, really new newbies don't understand how things work. As for double gamethreads, I don't think that has ever happened, as even the dumbest person should be able to tell that once one is made we don't need another.

Dammit, it's either a big hit or a big miss when we face a pitcher we've never faced.

Game time: 7:07 p.m.

TV/Radio: NESN / WEEI.

Red Sox vs. Redmond: No history.

Blue Jays vs. Dempster: Encarnacion 4-20, Bonifacio 5-20, Bautista 5-18, Rasmus 4-17, Reyes 4-14, Arencibia 1-8, Lind 1-6, Thole 1-6, DeRosa 0-6, Lawrie 1-5, Davis 2-4, Izturis 0-3.

Stat of the Day: The Sox are 8-5 against Toronto this season, outscoring the Jays 71-54.

Notes: After a day off, the Red Sox are set to finish their 10-game road trip with three games against the Blue Jays. ... After remaking their roster in the offseason, the Blue Jays were expected to be strong contenders to win the division. Instead they are 16 games back. ... The Sox start the day with a three-game lead on Tampa Bay. ... Dempster is in a rut. He is 1-0, 5.97 in his last seven starts and allowed 12 earned runs over 12 innings in his last two. He has faced the Jays three times this season and allowed nine earned runs on 18 hits over 16.1 innings. ... Redmond is coming up from Triple A Buffalo for the game. He has never faced the Sox before. ... Drew is 19 of 45 in a 12-game hit streak.

Really need a strong start from Dempster to open a series. A bad game will implode the bullpen.

Keeping my fingers crossed on that. Offense needs to step up. Hate that f***ing dome!

Given Dempster's recent performances, I'd say we need to have a pretty liberal definition of 'strong' in order to avoid disappointment.

Need to score some runs tonight and should be able to do so. Would like to see more of what we saw earlier this year....the home opponent coming up already in a hole.

Well here is part one of the score in the 1st formula...get Ortiz to the plate with a guy in scoring position.
Posted
I would be willing to bet anything that walk to Ortiz is why the catcher went out to the mound. Ortiz was right on everything Redmond was throwing. I think that was a tactical retreat.

I don't understand the hate on Napoli. He has to work on his plate discipline, but he's hit for power when needed. Besides, this team is in first.

I don't hate him at all. But he does strike out a lot and swings at crappy pitches.
