I was hoping that Naps had at least stabilized at where he was about two weeks ago cause that looked like a place that he could come back from. Defying all odds though he had gotten worse. Now I don't know if he can work his way back. Needs a long rest or something....looks like he is on the Bataan death march every time I see him.

And just like you said a couple game threads ago, when you start inventing new ways to lose each night, thats when you start going on longer winning droughts.

I am trying to remember but didn't Dempster put up a big pitch count his last start? I think I am remembering that right. Maybe Farrell did not want him to go big pitch count two games in a row.

I wonder if Farrell will start to switch off Drew against RH pitchers and WMB against LHP in the 5 hole behind Ortiz. Not optimal but I don't think we are going to see Naps back in the 5 hole again.

Dempster got an extra day of rest with the day off Monday.

How many game tying HRs has Tazawa given up in the setup role? Seems like a lot. Maybe Farrell should be rotating that slot.

Ya, gave one up to kyle seager that seattle game.

Time for more Ueh magic to send us off into extras.

Whoops...Taz for two again...man this looking more and more like playing with fire with Taz. He was already sort of toasty looking around the ASB.

Pete Abraham@PeteAbe

Tazawa back out for the 9th inning. His line against Toronto this season (counting tonight so far): 6.1 IP, 9 H, 7 ER (5 HR).

Did Farrell blow the game taking out Dempster at 88 pitches? Managers can cost you games overmanaging. It's a common practice these days with pitch counts and one reliever per inning. They get a good game out of Dempster and waste it.

I would say if taz lets up the run here, he blew the game

I guess Farrell must really feel like he is in a box and the Sox have needed somebody to go more than one inning in relief all year long. Just don't see what about Taz would lead one to believe he is that guy since he really needed the ASB as much or more than anybody else on the staff.

Arencibia was about 1 for his last 30, hitting around .200, and had been benched. Tazawa has a sign on him that says too many appearances.

Ha. All he needs to do is stick with a starter for another inning. 88 pitches? That's simple enough. Maybe even a CG. Heaven forbid.

Great job Bres.

Maybe Farrell is counting on the extra days off this month to save Taz's butt. I think this month is our light month for games....a day off every week I think.
