Drake Britton hasn't pitched much, but he has done very well in his limited opportunities.

Good observation. This is something other teams within the division have been doing extremely well but the Sox hadn't up until last year: Turn unsuccessful starters into quality relievers. It's the key to avoiding the bloating and unpredictable FA relief pitching marker.

It feels like the game has been over since the one run... but we're one shot away from this being a ballgame.

UN is right though..if we can get Rodney out there as good as Price has been, it is not at all hard to think we could get one off of Rodney and force it to extras. Heck Rodney could wild pitch his way to a run. At this rate though, Price could actually pitch extras. So gotta' get something to happen with the damn pitch count.

Unfortunately we've done well at the exact opposite, turning quality relievers into unsuccessful starters.

Was the game delayed? That could end up being a miracle for the Sox. Getting Price out an inning or two early makes this game much more winnable.

How many times has this happened?

I think the problem has been the lack of quality arms, rather than an inability to transition pitchers. Having talent like Tazawa, Miller, and Wilson ready to make the transition has helped the club significantly this year.

NESN poll about favorite seats at Fenway has Monster Seats rated real high. If I had my choice, I would choose the Loge Box seats that used to be the Sox team family member seats....around section 106, the first box seats just under the roof so you did not have to move when the rain started coming down. Did not fry in the sun either. Just left of and a little lower than my old season seats.

It really hasn't been. The sox have simply been reluctant to turn guys that look like failed starters into relievers. There's a time period to salvage these guys' careers, and the FO hasn't done a good job identifying when to make the conversion.

the tweet source on Lee is from a guy named Rich Smith of "allsportsintel" in NJ, who claims to have a Phillies source. we'll see.
