How that dirt taste? After the Heat won yesterday I'm betting against everything I like as God clearly hates me. I'm betting that the Blackhawks will win the Cup too.

Getting the win > Lester pitching really good

So I'll let you eat all the dirt.

Pitchers are not used to making that play. Notice how an infielder gets his glove and ball down ASAP. Albuquerque tried to follow Drew down and Drew just beat him to the plate.

Oh Crap....not really happy about seeing extra tape on Nava's wrist. the grind of the 162 seemingly catching up to the Sox a bit here.

I'd really like to see Miller in the 9th tonight. Got a 4 run lead and you're going to have to go up against a really tough 1-2-3, all tough RHH. Would definitely be a challenge for Miller to see how his stuff plays against the heart of a very good order, and see if he's got the makings for a closer option

Looks like you're getting your wish

Drew is something of a mystery. He will go 3-3 and then toss in about three Ofers in a row.

Nice knock again by Iggy. He still gets his infield hits but he also drives the ball to the outfield much more often than we have ever seen before.

Center fielder for Detroit messed up there haha

Messed up! I am not sure I have ever seen a ML outfielder backing up on a ball that was already bounding around in the outfield to the point where the ball played him....that one is a first for me.

Bigger surprise so far, Nava, Iglesias, or Carp?

Damn that's a hard one..

I'd have to say a toss up between Iglesias and Carp for me.. We all thought Iglesias couldn't hit.. Now I don't think he can keep up his current pace, but damn.

Carp for me. Once I saw Iggy's more compact swing I really thought he would at least hit good enough to be here. I don't think he will continue to string together such an eclectic combination of hits and he still needs to be a bit more selective but the compact swing has made all the dif in the world.

I really did not expect anything from Carp.

Yeah Iglesias for me too. Nava had these stretches before and has always been a solid OBP guy.

Carp was smothered in Seattle but still had a good power year a couple years ago. Not this good but still a 25-30 HR year at the age of 25, all in the AL West and home games at Safeco, so while his power is surprising, it's not crazzy.

Iglesias is certainly benefiting from some crazy BABIP numbers but he's making contact in almost 88% of his swings. That's as much as Pedroia. It's almost as if his unreal eye to hand coordination is finally transitioning into his hitting skills as well
