A win is a win is a win.

A lot of people talking about how the sox need to trade for a closer now

I feel like we need starting pitching WAY more than a relief pitcher at the deadline.

The team survived lackluster start by Lester. I can't believe how s***** he looks. It's start with throwing 1st pitch strikes, which he is awful at. He runs the pitch count way up there. I don't see much of anything but a poorly located fastball and cutters his catcher has to jump/dive around to block. He looks just like the turd that pitch since Sept. 2011.

I agree, there's a difference between "need" and "can use"

I am surprised that it has taken this long for the need for a starter to arise.

The Sox are fortunate in that they can get by without a SP or RP at the deadline and still compete for the division, having Workman Webster and Ranaudo all basically ready for the call, and De La Rosa having the ability to start or be a shut down reliever.

But if they want to make a deep PS run, they could certainly use another top of the rotation guy.

July will be interesting.

The good news is that the Sox are almost done with the toughest month of their season, and they've got a winning record in it (11-8 this month), and virtually have done it all without Buchholz.

We've also got the Rockies coming into town, which will give a breather.

Saying Lester looks s***** Station is actually a mild rebuke. The guy has become a total turd on the mound----and why the hell isn't the coaching staff telling him to shitcan that cutter of his. It doesn't cut anything but our chances of winning with this shitbag on the mound. I notice Lester is like the 1000 pound gorilla in the room with no one wanting to say the obvious for fear it might make him pitch even worse. The guy now stinks out there and unless he either gets his s*** together or is taken out of the rotation we are in for a tough time.

Maybe we can trade Lester and Lincecum/Cain and see if they can benefit from a switch in leagues where they face batters that haven't faced them as much.

(Joking obviously)

I know this is a joke, but I would just like to point out that Cain is probably the only one on this list likely to fix his issues any time soon. He's started putting up quality starts again and his ERA is back under 5.

Lincecum is back in the bullpen and not doing very good there either.
