Man Nava slumping hard right now too. Shame that Carp is hurt or he'd probably get some PT right now. Nava needs a break. 1 for his last 21 now
He looked like he was hurt after one of those swings. He bent over and straightened up real slow.

It's called "head to head" scoring. Your version is "rotisserie." I prefer HTH.

I considered that "Fantasy Football" scoring vs. "Fantasy Baseball" Scoring.

Whereby in the first one, it converts each event into a point score and whoever has the most points wins 1-0.

And in the second one it separates each event and the owners fight for each category, and even if they lose overall they still keep the category, so they might win 6-4 or lose 4-6. (Kind of like the Colorado electoral college)

I thought Head to Head and Rotisserie were something else. I thought head to head put you up against one person at a time per week and rotisserie was the entire league in a free for all per category.

Keeping score

Rotisserie: Assuming a 12-team league, the team that has the most home runs has 12 points, the team with the second most has 11, etc.; the team with the fewest home runs earns just one. This is repeated for the remaining groups, with a maximum of 120 points (10 categories multiplied by 12 possible points) possible in a 5x5 league and 96 in 4x4. The minimums would be 10 and eight, respectively, although almost certainly no one reaches these high and low watermarks.

Head-to-head: Each team in the league competes against only one other team over a seven-day span. Whoever leads in the specific categories at the conclusion wins the week. Although it's a fading format, some leagues assign point values to each statistic, much like in fantasy football, with the winner of each matchup for the week determined by whoever earns more points.

For roto head-to-head leagues that count each category as a win, loss or tie, a perfect week in 5x5 would be 10-0; in 4x4, 8-0. Your score becomes part of your cumulative record. In formats that award a single win, loss or tie, whoever wins the most categories wins the week.

His 8 HR are not what I expected.

But he's got a crazy habit of just playing completely out of his mind in August and September for some reason.

Nap 2011 Aug-Sept: .355/.443/.674, 15 HR, 49 G

Nap 2012 Sept (injured in Aug): .255/.345/.706, 7 HR, 16 G

Cabrera's on base....best place for him from our perspective. Rather him there right now than AB with a runner or two on.

Lester's ERA is just ballooning. He's at 4.57 after tonight's performance. I view him as our #4 or 5 starter at this point with Dempster. Buch, Lackey and Doubront are the top 3.

Cabrera is the best hitter in baseball. There's no way to pitch to him. You just hope he chases s*** pitches.

Yep, and he's got another outstanding hitter behind him in Fielder. That's an outrageous 3-4 combo

Sorry if I caused any misunderstanding, but i was talking about Nava. He looked hurt to me in his last AB.

After his last start maybe but otherwise I wouldn't have put Doubront near the top of anything.

Did you see Fangraphs GIF on all the ball that he hits out that is all over the zone? You have the best contact and plate coverage to do that.

Yeah, it's a tough call. It's like we have a #1, a #3 and three #5's

Our pitching looks like trouble unless Buch can get back out on the mound and perform up to snuff. Of the four guys that are regular starters still pitching I would put Lackey over the other three. That is scary just thinking about it. If Buch comes back OK and Lackey continues as he has, that might be OK. Without Buch our pitching suddenly looks like it has too many holes in the dike.

Buch will be back on Tuesday, so he's not out long.

Lackey is pitching like a #1 too, which is the only reason that Lester's struggles haven't affected this team more.

I would say we have a #1, #1b, #4 (Demp) and Doub is a #5

It was by the same maker of the Yu Darvish gif. Both of which I believe are in the baseball gif's thread. I think I have them both saved in my photobucket account as well.
