God damn it Lackey.

His last handful of starts he was pretty good though, not sure what's going on today. However there has been some very iffy calls from the ump that aren't helping.

A pause isn't herky jerkey lol. Cobb almost throws as effortlessly as Bard.

It's not a pause, his right leg swings out first, then up and toward his body, the a pause, then drives to the plate.

Herky Jerky may not be the right word. Unorthodox may be a better phrasing.

Its a shame Lackey can't pitch as well at the end of innings as he has been at the beginning of innings. Glad to see him fighting through a bad night though.

It could definitely be much worse than this.

If he's going to give it up I would rather him give it up early so we have time to rebound. He's just getting milked every inning

This! He has been pretty decent for us. Just not having a great night. We still have the lead.

I understand, but give him some credit. He's been in trouble multiple times and we still have a lead. I don't like his outing either, but we're winning. Isn't that what we want after 9 innings? I don't care whether Lackey gets his win or not, I just want the team win. Lackey should be ripped if he gives up the lead, in my opinion.

All these reactions and he only gave up one run...

Welcome to gamethread logic! Starter gives up a few runs early on, go to the pen! If it were up to TS posters,Tazawa, Uehara and Bailey would all pitch 125 innings this year.

Nobody has called for a reliever, at least not that I've seen. Saying he's having a really bad outing is not anything that should surprise anyone. He's given up 4 runs in 4 innings while dancing out of trouble the whole time after being spotted 6 runs before he took the field.

But he didn't, so why does it matter?

Because our lead is deteriorating and we now need to go to the pen earlier because if his pitch count, decreasing our odds of winning. This thing is far from over. When u have a 6 run lead before even throwing a pitch you expect an easy win without blowing the pen
