I probably should have looked at the matchup and chosen a different day for a gamethread haha

That's what the guy making the Bruins game thread (idk maybe) said in the third period last night.

Start it off Pedey....and here comes 100% of the offense

Man that was right in David's wheelhouse

I still trust Pedey.......other than that yeah we have no one to depend on

Pedroia is more of a table setter than a guy who job is to drive in runs.

I agree but come a spot late in the game with a runner on second and in need of a hit i would take Pedroia up any day

The Sox "beards" don't stay at the plate long enough for it to bother me. Bing-bang-bong.....3 strikes you're out!

Napoli is trying to hit a HR every time with that swing lately. I don't know what Gomes brings, he clearly need regular playing time. He brings nothing from the bench.

Let's score some runs, it would suck of that catwalk pop up was the difference in the game. Can a team petition a game on the grounds that the "ballpark" is a dump?

As much as we (I) was depending on Lester and Buch to be the standard bearers, with their performances pacing the Sox either up or down, lately it looks like games they pitch are the only games we have a shot at winning.

That said, clearly none of us would have thouht that the Sox were as good as they looked through April and they are not as bad as they have looked since late April into May.

Three hits tonight. Two coming in the first inning. One assisted by third base. We got to start taking better swings or its three in a row. The way the Sox are hitting Lester can pitch a great game tomorrow and we still lose with Price going for the Rays.

Yup, we have had some totally serviceable starts just wasted lately....starts that 90% of pitchers would consider great...and one wasted that was absolutely a great start by any standard of measure. I do think the only way we have a shot to go back to the approach we had at the start of the season is going to be first dropping Ells in the order. He is just murder up there at the top and I don't see him turning it around any time soon. He has become the tail end of the death march that is the bottom or our order once the game gets going.

Jeez this is exactly where Lavs was last time he was up in the reg season. When he did stroke it good it was right at somebody.

Well is at least getting some walks tonight but that is not the norm. For me that is the other shoe dropping on having Ells at the top of the order. Obviously I have picked a bad night to make that point but we all have seen enough of Ells to know he just does not draw walks like you expect from a lead off guy.

Have wanted Vic at the top from the a week into the season really. Although at that point I just wanted Vic and Ells to switch.
