John Lackey, RHP

0-1, 4.15 ERA

Bud Norris ain't that bad, but Lackey will be better, let us hammer this chump and take our series sweep with Jaeger.

Predictions: 6-3 Red Sox win. Ortiz homers.

Remember when the Astros had cool looking uniforms?

YES!!! NESN showed them the other night and many people were laughing at the old unis. Not me! I remember when the Astrodome was a very big deal and the bright orange striped unis were a perfect match for the image of the team. To this day when I think of Nolan Ryan, I see him in one of those uniforms.

Funny how technology goes through phases. The Astrodome while once being coined as one of the "worlds" wonders always had one of the worst playing surfaces in sports, even when it was new. Then when it got some age on it, it was truly nasty....dangerous even.

Last game with these bums from Houston. Wonder if the Sox will let Vic play on that carpet in Toronto. Guess it will depend on how good the back feels.

These Stros really are a joke of a team. I'll bet that Theo is really sorry to see them go to the AL. His Cubbies will have last place all to themselves this year. They look like they will make another strong run at another 100 loss season.

They have to find a way to work around Taz and Ueh today. They need today and the off day before facing the Jays. That could make it interesting cause I don't expect we will see many innings out of Lackey. Still I would like to see Farrell resist the temptation to go to Taz and Ueh.

Thank God for the outstanding starts from Lester and Buch cause I am not sure where this pen would be right now without the starts they have had.

The Stros are a good team for Lackey to come back against.

The Red Sox probably figured it was better for his confidence than playing against AAA.

Lackey's arm angle kinda' erratic right now. WMB looked a little out of position on that throw into 3rd. Must have gotten back to the bag a little late and was just not exactly where he wanted to be.

They worked as a perfect confidence booster for everyone...except Bard, obviously. :)

I guess we'll see Mortensen today, and Lackey won't help us rest those bullpen arms with so many pitches already.

I have a feeling this is going to be a bullpen kind of game. Good thing we have tomorrow off. At least if we're behind we won't have to worry about using our good relievers.
Uehara and Tazawa will be worn out by Memorial Day at this rate.

Might have been a run saved is WMB could have made that tag. Looked like the run coming home was nip and tuck beating the out at 3rd if the tag was there.

Luckily we should have Morales and Breslow coming back which would allow us to get rid of Miller and someone else to have more useful bullpen arms.

Miller looked good last night. Bard will be the first to go.

I assumed that Bard was gone in order to make a spot for Lackey.

Edit: Nvmd it was Lavarnway, Yahoo hadn't listed him on Boston's depth chart and he was never used so I assumed he didn't get brought up.

Does Bard have any more options? That's what surprised me the most about the decision to bring him up when they did.
