He got his taste of the Majors. He needs some seasoning at the plate. He will be back eventually though.

This is also a great time for Papi to return, guys are hitting and the team is winning so he is not pressured into trying to carry the team right of the bat.

The situation worked out surprisingly well. He struggled but the team still got off to a great start and it's not a complete s*** storm with him getting sent down because most people realize he still needs a bit of seasoning. I'm guessing he'll be back up this summer sometime.

JBJ will definitely be back. He struggled, but I'm still really high on this kid and think he is going to be great.

Also very nice to see Ortiz back! The lineup just looks so much better with Ortiz in it.

There's no way that a guy with the plate discipline that JBJ has isn't going to have a long, productive career in the majors.

true.

he just has some learning to do and he will be back in the major in no time.

He'll return in June, or right after the ASB at the latest, I think.

He will be back at some point in the future. I predict he will have very successful Red Sox career.

This.

I'm not against moving him down for the time being, but I agree we will see him again at some point. He is extremely talented.

If we are lucky at least from the perspective of the future for JBJ and the Sox, he will stay down for the entire year or at least till call ups. He has much to learn and would clearly benefit from a season at AAA. So guys can jump from AA to the Majors and some can't. No reflection on him or his potential but he needs the work at the AAA level.

I say, why rush? Sure, maybe if we wouldve let him stay he wouldve eventually broken through but it does no harm for him to take it slowly. It may do harm for him to start too quickly though.

Personally I think he was being too patient, which may be indicative of trying to please too much, which may be indicative of him not being ready attitudinally. Then again I may be way off base altogether.

Patience at the plate is a combination of eye and attitude. Not sure he could have sort of "thought" his way there. He may "learn" to be more aggressive at the plate. Now you are gonna' make me strain my brain to try to figure if he let good pitches to hit go by. I actually don't think he did. However I could also be wrong.

I remember when he batted against Mariano Rivera with people on base and a chance to make that game against Pettite interesting and the best pitch was the first one and Bradley let it go by. After that Rivera toyed with him. Its hard to pick on Bradley for letting a first pitch go by but Rivera was on the ropes at that time and patience might not have been the best strategy. Hindsight always 20/20 though.

Rivera pitching to a rookie in Yankee stadium has a strike zone as big as a house.

JBJ just need some more ABs at AAA. His approach to hitting and being selective is too good for him not to be back in the Show at some point.

Yeah, he needs a few more reps, which I thought he did back in Spring when I was arguing against his being up in the first place. He's an exciting prospect, he just needs more time to develop.

In light of the events the past two weeks it seems we may have been guilty of rushing Jackie up to the Red Sox because of his terrific Spring down in Florida. Hitting pitching in Big League game is different and sending they young man down should get him the experience and at-bats needed to get him up to speed. IMO I think this young man is headed for stardom and he must be handled right. Let him play down at Pawtucket for a few months and if he shows what he can do we can always bring him up sometime during the summer. No was should he give up on himself or us on him.

JBJ was pretty much the only story-line of the spring other than Ortiz.

He was used (right or wrong) as a pawn to get the players and fans on board with a "fresh new look".

He was not ready, but who knows what his spring training contributions will allow this team to accomplish.

The JBJ influence, which seemed to kick start the team and the fan-base could possibly be the most underrated contribution to the 2013 Redsox.

BA= .302, OBP = .400, OPS =.749

Looks like he must be generating BBs, and base hits while not hitting for much power. He is not K-ing at the rate he had begun to K at up here. Not tearing up AAA but not doing badly either.
