only a couple 21 and even 22 year olds. 20 is just ridiculous

Only 1 position player younger than Bogaerts in AA, and he's only 16 days younger, and he's posting a .561 OPS.

Definitely excited about the talent we have in AAA.

Bradley is hitting .320 with a .914 OPS in 25 games this year.

Brentz has 13 HR's and 48 RBI's in 59 games this year.

Obviously watching Bogaerts will be fun.

Hazelbaker is hitting .281/.346/.419/.765 with 6 HR's, 30 RBI's, and 16 SB's.

Webster has a 2.98 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP in 51.1 innings and 10 starts.

De La Rosa has a 3.29 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 38.1 innings and 11 starts.

nice to see he is pitching over 5 inning.

They should give him the next spot start instead of Webster. Webster has not earned another start.

Bogaerts went 2/3 with a walk to raise his OPS to .755. Bradley Jr. 1/2 with 3 walks.

Cecchini 3/4 with a double. Hitting .412 in AA ball.

Is Webster left off for MLB appearances? If so, how many appearances would JBJ need to be left off next go around?

On Keith Law's midseason top 50, he's got Bogaerts (3), Cecchini (20), Bradley (24), and Owens (31).

He's also got Swihart as an honorable mention.

Four prospects in the top 31 is outstanding.

Matt Barnes having down year in minors

It's been a rough year for Red Sox starting pitching prospect Matt Barnes. The 2011 first-round pick (19th overall) is 4-6 with a 5.22 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and .284 opponents' batting average in 17 starts for Double-A Portland.

Barnes has had only one outstanding month in 2013, when he went 2-0 with a 2.65 ERA in six May starts. Otherwise, he went 1-1 with a 9.00 ERA in four April starts, 1-3 with a 6.86 ERA in five June starts and is 0-2 with a 6.00 ERA in two July starts.

One of the few bright spots for Barnes this year has been his strikeout-to-walk ratio. He has struck out 88 batters and walked 28 in 70 2/3 innings. Barnes is considered a top-100 prospect by MLB.com (No. 38) and Baseball America (No. 40).

He's in the top hundred, but his progression has hit a big road bump.

White Sox release Lars Anderson

The White Sox parted ways with first baseman Lars Anderson, according to the Chicago Tribune. Anderson joined the White Sox at the end of spring training. He batted .194 in 266 plate appearances at Triple-A Charlotte.

It looks like Lars has come to the end of the road.
