knuckleballers don't have a place in the AL East. The power is too great and the stadiums are smaller.

In the NL East, the Mets have a small park, Braves are hitter friendly, Phillies have a short porch in left and right. Pretty much the same in that regard.

That's the first time I have ever heard someone say that the Mets ballpark is small.

Their offense makes it look big.

I was surprised when we had Talksoxer's chiding the FO for letting Dickey make it to the Jays. I don't think we should rue that decision at all. That said, that was about the worst pitching for a one inning stretch by any knuckler I can remember. Of course that there are few of them left, adds to his uniqueness and provides less opportunity for us to critique them. Wright does not impress me as AL East ready either.

In the same way, Lackey should know his arm, and if he felt something, he should have done something about it. I don't know if you noticed during the game, but they had him icing his arm between every inning.
Players want to play. I'm sorry Pal, but the manager has to protect the players against themselves and sometimes he needs to protect the team from a pitcher having an off day who want to stay in the game. This is a big part of the manager's job. You can't just make out the lineup card and then sit on your hands.

I didn't take blame off Farrell, I simply put some of the responsibility on Lackey too.

But, it is big. The smallest part of the park, like everyone's stadium, is the corners. Then, it quickly jumps out to 385.

Dickey looks like he does not have an idea what to do about this and he probably doesn't. Although I guess you could argue that he is starting that thing way up to begin with to finish as high in the zone as his pitch is finishing.

I don't remember this at all. There was chiding of some of the Red Sox's pitching decisions, but Dickey was not worth Bogaertz+ Bradley, and everyone knew that from the get go.

However, notice how little consistency a700 exhibits when he wants to whine about something. He's usually complaining about how players will get out of playing games over the smallest things because they're prima donnas, but now "players want to play". Which is it?

There were a few....we will rue the day comments I think because the Jays had already proven that they were going all in and Dickey looked like another piece to the puzzle.

Clearly there is a monster dif trying to hit that knuckler down in the zone than when it is up anywhere. Dickey with a much better inning 2.
