Did you make much progress on your moving last night?

No, unfortunately. I was packing stuff up, then I clicked over to the Bruins game and couldn't take my eyes off it. I don't like hockey, but that was pretty sick

I'm starting to notice a theme here...

Bruins win:

You mean the Bruins? Who gives a f***. It's May, who cares about a game played on a frozen pond only in Canada.

Bruins lose:

It isn't much of a theme. I don't even like hockey. I could care less if the Bruins never win another game or take 10 titles in a row. Last night, the Yankee game wasn't entertaining, I was throwing stuff in boxes and then I passed the hockey game when it was 2-1. I saw 3 goals in a short span and they had me.

This series does not bode well for the Yankees if they've got to play the A's in a 1 game WC Playoff.

I don't think it means much. Anything can happen in one game. Even if it was a series I don't think it would mean much.

A classic reversal was in 2007, when Cleveland was 0-6 vs. the Yankees in the regular season and outscored 49-17. They won the playoff series in 4 games.

It's funny saying these things because they're nine games over .500, but this has got to be the worst team since 1992. In other years when they were struggling around this time you could say 'well, they just need underperforming players to perform up to par'. There's not really much of that this year.

I don't know if most people realize how bad the Yanks position players are, although I'm sure y'all do lol. Here are the fWARs for some of the Yankees regulars coming into today.

Hafner: 0.5

Wells: 0.1

Ichiro: 0

Nix: 0.2

Youk: -0.3

Tex (in limited time): -0.2

That's insane.

Here are the adjusted runs created figures for the Yankees starting lineup today.

116 69 127 66 119 87 82 66 92

EDIT: And while Hafner's wRC+ looks good on the whole, here is how it breaks down by month: 194 62 71

In the top of the 11th, Brett Gardner bunted back to the pitcher who promptly threw the ball away and put Gardner on second base with no one out. Then Nix sacrifice bunted Gardner to third for one out. Cano was then intentionally walked. Then Teixeira, who is hitting .178, was hit by a pitch to load the bases with one out.

Naturally, Hafner and then Youkilis both struck out.

Stewart runs like he's got a stick in his ass

And the rest of the Yankees offense sucks cock, according to you. I think you might need to confront some latent feelings that are clearly coming to the surface.

Nix strikes out to end the inning. The pressure's on for the A's, if they don't score in the next four or five innings, the Yankees might actually win!

I didn't see it, but it looks like Sogard getting caught trying to steal third base in the third inning is a pretty big play right now. Seth Smith later drove in a run on a double.

He never did clarify exactly what he was packing.
