How rational of you.

Yankees228 is the cool yankee fan. He's the good one.

I just find it weird how Claiborne had the same ERA and WHIP going into his outing, pitched 2 innings, and still has the same ERA as his WHIP.

Why do you try to steal there? If you get the base, Cano's going to get walked. If you're caught stealing, you take the bat out of your best hitter's hands and he may not get another chance.

Exactly. Hell, let's set a record for longest game! I'd like to see the Yankees play so long that they have to call up someone from Triple-A to pitch the 35th inning. Maybe after four dozen innings or so the wire frame holding Lyle Overbay's decaying corpse together will fall apart.

We're up 2 in the L column, which is really all that matters. And how am I getting rocked? Dude, we're still ahead of you guys with half our payroll on the DL.

Regardless, Granderson left the game after being hit on the hand and Phelps just took a liner off his arm and went down.

You swear like the Yankees have been in first forever. It's also May so keep flexing those muscles, because no one cares.

Gah. Rays had the bases loaded 1 out in the 10th against Nova and Loney strikes out and Joyce grounds out. Rays should have won this game multiple times already.

Dude, we're a better team at full strength. We're at half strength and we've been the better team through 8 weeks. We get closer to full strength as time moves on. We get Youk and Tex back next week. Granderson should be back around the ASB when ARod and Jeter return. We also get Pettitte back in a week. Once we're healthy, we will be markedly better, so your time to jump on us is now

What does that have to do with the Rays handing you the game today?

It must be disappointing for a team as great as the Yankees to only be up a game on a team that's going to be at .500 by the All-Star break.

Hey Jacko, I'm playing the world's smallest violin.

The sox are peaking right now, lol. BTW, another save by Mo! We might need to coax him out of this whole retirement talk. He looks better than ever

Considering all the people we have/had on the DL it's not disappointing at all.

I've already pointed out how all the advanced stats suggest the Red Sox have been the better team. I'd do it again but I'm smart enough to realize by now that you're just trolling.

Fixed for accuracy.

Yes, the advanced stats, the same ones that said the Orioles weren't going to make the playoffs, until they did. This Yankees team reminds me of the great teams in the late 90s. Veterans all pulling in the right direction. A rotation that may not have been the best in the league, but gave innings and held leads. A bullpen that was completely lights out. And an offense that hit to situations and hit in the clutch.

In terms of the pythag, the Yankees have outperformed it for nearly 18 years. Why is that? Because when they have a lead in the late innings, they don't lose. That also has a lot to do with Mo. And speaking of Mo, he hasn't blown a save.

You mean the guy who is averaging 5.2IP per start?

The fact that Lackey's pitched 20 less innings less only makes it that much better that he's matched Sabatha's WAR.
