The Red Sox absolutely and completely own Rick Porcello: For his career he sports a 10.80 ERA and 2.16 WHIP against the Red Sox, who are hitting an absurd .395/.452/.684 1.137 OPS line against him.

Last night was going to be the hardest game to win in this series and we got lucky to get the win. Let’s hope the Sox continue to kick the crap out of Rick Porcello and make it five in a row. I just hope Cook can hold himself together.

Cook can have a meet on the mound like Agon did with Aceves and Mclure  that was priceless

I miss some of you guys but I can't deal with some members on the site. Not gonna mention names but I rather not come on the site just to bitch at new posters because members don't like that. If I did, it'd get ugly because of how f***in retarded some members are here. Besides I go to work like 5 days a week and it's always when the Sox are playing. I still lurk from time to time and I still post just not in any baseball related topics.

I have no problem with people being angry at the sox, they have every right to be. I don't expect people to be optimistic when we're playing like a AAA team. This "f*** this team" pessimism is just a little annoying and I want no part of it.

problem is we havent beaten a decent team yet. the only good series we had was Tex where we lost 2 out of 3 but gave a good fight. Yankees we took one from CC which encourages me.

got lucky against Verlander last night with the error from Infante.

so the fact that we are on a win streak is a little misleading. pitching still needs to step up a bit. i only wish if there was a starter waiting in the wings from AAA and takes everyone by storm.

I wonder how much of this Aviles turf toe deal is simply wanting Ciriaco in the lineup without saying so. I definitely want Ciriaco in the lineup and I expect the Sox prefer him there as well but I don't think you will ever get the Sox to tell you that they want Ciriaco there instead of Aviles. If they truly wanted Avlies there instead, they would be dead and to stupid to fall over.

What are you smoking? They took the series from the Yanks and have taken the first two from the Tigers. Got lucky? They were ahead, no luck involved. They BEAT Verlander when the game was called. Dumb it down all you like, they've won 4 straight vs. two very good teams.

Hey, they're doing OK--so far. But Cook is pitching tonite. He would have been gone, but they stupidly pitched him in NY just before the trade deadline, instead of Morales.

When a team makes stupid moves to beat themselves, you can't have much faith in them roaring back and making the playoffs. That's how I see them right now. A .500 team--give or take a few games.

If the FO had the belief in this team that they profess to have, they would have reinforced it at the trading deadline. They can make all the excuses bit there was a load of trading activity by a load of teams. They have no faith in the team, and now the players in the locker room know it. Everyone knew they needed starting pitching. None was obtained. Message sent. Message received, except by those in denial.

Well, I'm excited to see Lavarnway up. Mortensen always seems to get the bump (for Breslow, I know Lavs came up and Nava was corresponding move), but I would be interested to see how he would do in an extended stint.

Very nice start from Cook. 4 ground balls' date=' the only hit he gave up was just a great job of hitting by one of the best in the league.[/quote']

20 pitches is a lot for 4 batters for a guy who pitches to contact though. Thankfully, the pen had a little extra rest as yesterday's game only went 5+.
