Shoppach should be after WMB! Otherwise, lineup looks fine to me post-Ortiz.

Valentine said he expects Ortiz to he ready to come off the DL once he's eligible. Pedroia told BV he was ready "four days ago."

50% chance of scattered t-storms all night in Boston. Doesn't look good.

If there is an official game, CC steals two more bags.

Ree Sox should fire BV. I wonder if Joe Torre wants to coach again? or Leyland after this year.

Pap just blew another save.

Have fun with that contract, Philly. This is why closers are so overrated. I'm not saying everyone can close, but there is always someone on your team who can. You just have to find him, and you don't have to pay him 15mm a year.

If I had to choose between Papelbon vs Aceves or Bailey and 13mm toward another player, give me Aceves or Bailey. All day.

I was watching. It went like this a bloop hit, a swinging bunt between the pitcher and catcher, a strikeout of Mark Ellis with runners on first and third, and an IF hit by Kemp where there was a disputed call at first. I don't think he is losing anything. He was still throwing very well even though pitching for the 3rd day in a row.

Smart move by Cherington. Or does he only run the team when things go wrong?

I'm not saying he is worse. I'm just showing how useless it is to pay 15mm for a guy who gets 3 outs a game.

He's making the same that he was making in his last year as a Red Sox.

Edit: About $12 million
