great inning for Josh....I always like giving the guy the chance to come out for the next inning but would have been goin' nuts again if had started letting guys get on again.....Hopefully he can keep it up and we can get more runs off this bum.
7 run rule is in effect.

Hey I have not really seen one way or the other but are the Yanks not going shift for any of the usual shift guys like Salty and Ortiz?

Morales' outing will be pretty interesting. He hasn't faced a really good offense (the Braves are #4 in the NL) as a SP yet. If he can maintain his dominance this year he will really help us in the upcoming years.

Doubront is fading......

Has Mortensen pitched since Monday? He really saved the bullpen that night and may be asked to do something similar this weekend.

nice plate discipline Gomez.

He's been in the Major Leagues for about two hours. Give him a break. Granted, he shouldn't be playing at all, but there is no reason to expect anything except what he's already shown.

I have no idea how that feels.

You must be this guy:

I'd give him a pass is he was doing mediocre in AAA, but he was crushing it. He's pressing hard right now swinging at crap.

Not sure. But he does have options and will probably make it back up. He has been effective this year.

What's Aviles' excuse?

If we can steal a win here' date=' and we have Morales going tomorrow and Lester on Sunday, who threw extremely well in his last outing, I like our chances to take 3.[/quote']

Shhhh, don't say that too loud around here...

He always K's at a huge rate. That's why he's 27 and in AAA even though he's got a .914 OPS in AAA over the past 2 years.

He's got zero plate discipline. But, when he hits it, it goes a long, long way. A lot like Mark Reynolds.

Jeckyll and Hyde Beckett
No. Pitchers who give up 6 runs in the first 2 innings but give up nothing the rest of the way had a bad day. No Jeckyll and Hyde, just Hyde.

Except for the fact that Granderson crushed the ball.

Huh?? Granderson hit that ball off the end of the bat. Looked like a hard hit LD off the bat, but I think he got it off the end once the cameras panned out and you could see the trajectory.
