I went back and looked at some stats.

 

After striking out 29 times and walking 4 times in his first 95 PA/91 AB (31.8% K rate, 4.2% BB rate), he has become much, much more selective hitter. Since then (65 PA, 57 AB), he has K'd only 8 times (14%) and BB'd 4 times (6.2%), a drastic improvement.

 

Very encouraging sign. I have definitely noticed that he has been laying off of a lot of sliders/changeups low, away, etc rather than hacking away like I would expect a rookie to do.

Anybody ask what they are going to do about their stampede of outfielders when CC and Ellsbury come back? You don't just give them away, like Youkilis. Like I've said, I'd trade Ellsbury for an ace starter. I doubt Cherington has the balls, but Ells is going for the big contract soon.

 

Since when do players bypass managers to complain to GMs? That's a ticket to get traded on most teams.

He's going with the righty bats against the southpaw. Supposedly Lillibridge hits lefties pretty well, but his numbers this year against lefties are horrendous.
