RH hitter.......Aviles should have been NOWHERE NEAR the bag.

 

RH hitter, 2B bag.....I have to ask you honestly.......do you know the fundamentals, or do you just act like it?

 

Thanks for playing nicely.

I played some baseball, but not past HS. I am not the best source for advice on fundamental baseball, but I am willing to learn.

On that play Aviles' momentum was towards first base. Why was Pedroia on second base when he had his momentum going away from first base. Just asking.

RHH, SS is playing in the hole, 2B is shading the middle. 2B has the bag on a ball back to the pitcher.

If hes going for the ball, thats fine.....but once its passed you, get the f*** out of the way. Depending on which side the hitter is hitting from determines who will be covering the bag. They do it that way so it doesnt open up same side gaps when covering the bag for SB's and hit and runs.

 

Listen, if you dont know something its fine....but dont argue it if you dont know.

I stand corrected. Thanks. I admit that I am not the best source of information for this kind of thing. It seemed that Aviles' momentum would be the deciding factor, but apparently that is not the case.

They look like 2 last place teams out there. They deserve to be where they are in the standings. The play is horrible tonight.

 

Nice call by Bobby V on the suicide squeeze and nice execution by Nava.
