Love how all the apologists disappear on the forum when they realize the team really does suck.

Pretty much every prediction I had this offseason came true. Actually, I thought they were a third place team again this year......they are craptastically worse.

BTW RSR, f*** yourself.

Where were you when the Sox went 16-6 like a week ago?

When they lost 3 outta 4 to Baltimore? That week?

I was probably in the same place that the apologists have been from the looks of this place lately......not here.

I wouldnt say Im back.

Just pissed off. I love this franchise. I was born and raised to love it.....but this TEAM is infuriating.

Let me be clear as well. I stopped posting 5 weeks ago regularly because I was tired of arguing with apologists, not because of the success of the team. I love them today, tomorrow...I love them next year....I love them win or lose.

I just hope that Sox management does make some moves here for all our sakes...whether we have been thinking they are a shoe in for the post season or have been thinking the Sox were really going to struggle, it would be hard to support the idea that they can just go on like this and make it to the post season even with the extra WC this year.

I think management will rightfully deserve our criticism if we keep having to endure Youk in the lineup and no moves made to bolster the pitching. Although I have always thought a mid-season move for pitching was going to be very difficult this year, this is the position they left themselves in.

As for the site activity the last couple of weeks...this has been a tough team to watch these last few weeks. If one mostly wants to come to game threads to cheer victories, I can see having a tough time lately. I love to talk about baseball, especially about the games in progress. So I enjoy that even when things are not going to well. But there has not been much to cheer about lately.

Heck what has there been to cheer. The Sox have not even made a contest of some of these games. Come out of the dugout...drop their pants....lay a big turd out there on the diamond and head back to the clubhouse. Some of these games have literally gone that way.

I would just like to see them play better baseball. Losses are one thing. Geez just give us some better baseball. V pinch hitting Nava today with WMB sitting there was like chalk across the blackboard for me. Granted WMB would have made it righty against righty but we needed a HR at that point and Nava was not going to get us one. He was completely overmatched.

If this team has to push runs across' date=' it is almost like a constipated effort. It seems to take enormous effort for them to squeeze out one stinking lousy run. [/quote']

Sadly, that is a great analogy. And I can't believe I've never seen excretion used as a metaphor for offensive production before.

The Red Sox offense is indeed like a constipated bull right now. When the bull is regular it's a marvel to behold, but when it's constipated, very painful to watch.

Welcome back. Not everyone here is an apologist

Just to comment on a previous post of yours, the team really doesn't suck. It infuriating, for sure, but its more of a mediocre team than a sucky team. The Twins suck. So do the Royals and the Cubs. When you hover around .500 all year your team is ordinary and mediocre.

As I recall, you are the mod of TalkPats, right? They are loaded this year. Should be a very good season for the NE Patriots.

Were all pissed off. They spent $174 million on a team that is mediocre to bad, boring mixed in with a few whiners and arrogant jackasses. This is a bunch that is hard to tolerate when they are losing.

But to be fair, can't we all agree that if they had Ellsbury, Crawford, and Ross in the lineup, and Bailey in the pen, then they would be in a much better spot than they are right now?

I mean, we can all agree that they would at least be around 34-30 or something. Not excellent, but at least over .500 and within striking distance. This team is hard to watch because they have a bunch of no-name players out there, and the guys who are playing are pressing because they're trying to make up for the guys who are out.

It's just a s*** season right now. That doesn't mean that they can't turn it around in an instant. I mean, fast forward 2 or 3 weeks and they could be 2-3 games out. You never know.

I'll tell you one thing. Nobody in here thought they would go on a tear after going 2-9 against the White Sox, A's, Orioles, Royals, and Guardians, especially with teams like the Rays, Phillies, and Tigers coming up on the schedule.

But you know what? They did. They went on a 16-6 run. They put themselves right back into the mix. I'm not saying it's going to happen again, but far be it from me to count them out after they've shown they are able to go on a streak at the blink of an eye.

I think they would have squeezed a win or two out of Bailey and a win or two out of the everyday guys probably because of Ells. You have to credit the subs for their work and I think you can make the case that they have been adequate replacements for CC and the limited time that Ross has been out.

However from this month on and actually more so coming up, in the second half of the season, the schedule gets really tough. We needed to make hay early this season and didn't do it.

Plus they need an injection of good SP this year, everyday players and closer et al.
